The 2007 Musical Season will conclude with the Northeast Regional Theatre Premiere of LES MISÉRABLES. A crowning achievement for NSMT, as it is only one of a handful of theatres in the country allowed to present a professional production of this epic and powerful musical in 2007. Based on Victor Hugo’s epic novel, relentless policeman Javert pursues escaped convict Jean Valjean over decades through the tumult of revolutionary France. The 8-time Tony Award winning musical has thrilled audiences around the world and will now be presented in a most unique production created solely for NSMT’s signature theater-in-the-round. LES MISÉRABLES, which will run from October 23 though November 11 is sure to have audiences entranced with such songs as “I Dreamed a Dream,” “One Day More” and “On My Own.”

...wow.
So I assume they'll do the same thing they did with Beauty and the beast and then bring most of the cast and sets over to Sacramento Music Circus, then?

Posted: 11/27/06 at 10:33pmWe have a regional theater here in MN doing Les Miserables this season also, it's set to go up in June with an open ended run, I believe. And you can darn well bet I will be at auditions.

Well i never would have guessed that being that the web site's summary of the musical befor they could announce it was;
"A musical that changed the Broadway world, and a new revival this fall we cannot release th name"
WOW I NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED IT, im case that clue didnt throw you off, maybe the fact that the text this summary was the text that says "Les Miserables" on the marquee.

NSMT did not partner with Sacramento Music Circus on BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Sacramento hired the same director; he cast most of the same talent and rented our costume package. There was no official collaboration.
When NSMT is given a title with restrictions like this, we have to do something to insure that the subscription campaign goes out on time and our business and cash flow is not interrupted. Of course we make it easy to guess. We just have to stick to the agreement of not officially announcing the title.

Les Miz is scheduled for SLC Utah Pioneer Theatre 4/27-5/26/07.
Is that to be same production as MN in June?
Not for me -- but if yes, would you go to audition in Utah or wherever?
p.s. No Sunday performances.

It's just that they want to see if people want to see it... which is a stupid question because everyone in Sacramento seems to be in love with les mis.

Oh.
Yes, stupid it is.
So should I stop stuffing the ballot now for TSG, since it seems it'll turn out to have been a futile effort?

Highly doubtful. Michael Brindisi will want his fingers on this bad boy. It's being mounted at the Chanhassen, here in Minnesota, so I am sure it's going up from scratch.
