Posted: 12/13/06 at 8:43pmOn broadwayworld.com there is the Les Miz video that's amazing! Obviously someone had to film that. What do you think the possibilities would be for a videographer to film the ENTIRE revival and sell it? It would be the best of both worlds... being able to hear the revival cast and see the show again and again.

The possibility is greater that in my lifetime, Clay Aiken will come out.

You'll just have to wait for the movie.
(Which will probably stink)

It was an off-the-cuff remark. There has been no mention of any film-version of the musical LES MISERABLES. Judging by the outcome of the film-version of Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, I wouldn't hold my breath for one.
DREAMGIRLS sacrificed (quite successfully) it's sung-thru dialogue, which isn't possible with LES MISERABLES, thus it just won't work as a motion picture. Live theater is one thing; motion pictures are another.

Yeah, like...back in 1985.

Posted: 12/14/06 at 3:18pmI think they should make a production video at some point, it would turn out better than a movie IMO.

"The film version of Les Misérables will be produced by Tri-Star Pictures and Cameron Mackintosh and will be directed by Bruce Beresford ("Driving Miss Daisy," "Breaker Morant"). Production is scheduled to begin in early 1993."
...that obviously panned out nicely...
