How has the stage door of Les Miz been doing lately?
I want to get autographs from the nine principal cast members as listed below.
1. Alexander
2. Norm
3. Lea
4. Gary
5. Jenny
6. Adam
7. Ali
8. Celia
9. Aaron
Will it be hard to get all nine signatures? Will the cast members sign for everyone? I am thinking I would need to make three trips to the stage door.
I am especially interested in getting autoprahs from Lea and Jenny. Has anyone received autgraphs from Lea and Jenny?

If you can catch/recognize Ms. Galloway out of costume, she's more than happy to sign an autograph.

I did it (but with Daphne)
I have one from Jenny. I saw it with Daphne.

I stage doored in January, and there was a large crowd. Luckily, I was near the door. When Jenny Galloway came out, I asked and she signed, but she wasn't chatty or anything. I think she only signed for a few other people. She won't go around to each person like most of the other actors do, but she will sign if you ask politely and don't shout.
They may or may not come out. Depends on how they feel.
i got all of those people within te first 45 minutes. save for, alexander, jenny, and gary. i think on weekends it may be quicker because there are usually more people stage dooring then.
and lea comes out pretty quickly, i'd say 30 minutes or so.
i'd say the nicest is probably norm. what a great guy, really. adam is great also.
lea is kind of sign & go. she isn't much of a chatter like some of the others. understandable, though.
aaron is a sweetie, he thought i was so funny because the guy next to me told him that i couldn't stop talking about him before he came out. hahahaha. oy vey.
good luck & enjoy the showww! =)

When I saw it, Jenny came out very quickly and kind of passed everyone by. I'm sure she would have stopped if people had asked, but she looked like she was in a hurry and by the time I put two and two together and got Jenny Galloway she was gone. Everyone else was so nice though (save Celia, who was out that day. But at Spelling Bee she was. And now I'm rambling). Also, one minute I saw Lea signing, I turned my head, look back to go to talk to her, and she was gone. It was so strange. But I'm sure she was very nice as well.
I was there during its first week. I think Jenny was still getting used to the whole Broadway thing. She came out of the stage door and bolted. I asked her to sign my Playbill, but before I could finish she shook her head "no". Maybe she has softened up a little. But all the others are GREAT!! I talked to all of them and carried on tiny conversations. Adam didnt talk much and neither did Ali. But anyway, they are so nice. Norm is the MAN!! Not only does he play the best role in the show, he is the nicest of the cast members. Seeing DRV was amazing too. I have a funny story about her and me at the stage door. If anyone wants to hear it, PM me.
how interesting! i was just going to say that Ali was the nicest one to talk to - I talked to her for a fair amount of time, asking her about the show, talking about daphne rubin-vega and her new show, and her blog. i would say wait a little while after the initial rush of people who want autographs and often just leave, and usually people like Ali are willing to stick around and chat.
it's a good group of people. i've also heard the jenny galloway is hard to get a hold of, i missed her the time i was there.
Now I ask you...what on earth will you do with these autographs? In 2 years time, those Playbills and stuff will be in some box, stored away for years.
I don't know -- I've been seeing shows on Broadway since I was 7 years old (1972) and never ONCE did I even have the urge to get an autograph. Even then I was keen on how pointless they were. "What do I do with an autograph? Show it to people? Why?"
"Now I ask you...what on earth will you do with these autographs? In 2 years time, those Playbills and stuff will be in some box, stored away for years."
It's a memento of the show. Just so you can say, "I met [insert name] at the stage door!"
And I occasionally take out my playbills and look at them.
two years from now, when I am in the full throes of my clinical years in medical school, these playbills will be a momento of "times gone by" (har har) and how much fun it was to meet such talented and charming people who really make a show amazing.
it's a personal opinion, but getting autographs and meeting the actors and talking to them about their characters and experience in the show really make a performance special and memorable. it's not necessary, and I still certainly enjoy the show without it.

I saw the show on Feb. 27 and was able to get autographs and pictures with Celia, Gary, Ali, Brian, Adam, Norm, Aaron, and Alex. Nikki (this was between Daphne and Lea) left quickly and I never saw Jenny.
Celia was very distracted, but I think she was trying to hurry to catch up with an old friend so I understood. Ali, Adam, and Norm were EXTREMELY gracious and seemed happy to be signing/taking pictures. Everyone says this, but Norm really does have a great smile.
Aaron was... kinda weird. lol. He didn't seem overly thrilled to be doing the stage door thing but never refused a request. After we took a picture he insisted several times that we take another one because he thought he looked mad in it. After the second one he still seemed bothered by the way he looked in it. I couldn't decide if it was his vanity or if he just wanted me to have a good photo.
Alex came out last. There was a busload of students that had seen the show and as they drove by some of them yelled "We love Jean Valjean!!" and he looked up and raised his arm to acknowledge them)
And as for why I like the signed playbills:
I like the stage-door experience. Asking for an autograph gives you the chance to compliment the actor and talk to them a bit while they're signing. You can kinda judge whether or not they are willing to talk to you by their reaction to the autograph request. If they don't seem rushed or annoyed, then I feel better about asking a question or saying whatever I wanted to say.
I also like being able to go back and see who I've seen perform in the past. When I see a new show I like reading the cast bios. Sometimes I realize that I may have seen them in their earlier performances. I can go back and find the Playbills and see if they performed the night I was there. If they signed the Playbill, then I know I got to meet them as well. I know it's not a big deal, but I find it interesting.
I saw the show in January and was able to get a lot of people, until we decided it was too cold and went home.
Celia is very sweet. She was very happy to be signing and chatting with everyone. I told her how much I liked the show, and we chatted very briefly. She seems to really appreciate everyone. I was in a very happy mood, and I think she found it funny.
I'd heard people say that Aaron wasn't very nice to them, but I thought he was very nice. He was EXTREMELY tired (understandably!), but he stopped and chatted with everyone. He was having issues with pens/markers, and kept remarking on how it was so cold that the ink was freezing. He seemed to find it funny. (He almost ripped my playbill trying to sign it :oP.)
I didn't get to meet Norm, which was disappointing, because I really wanted to.
Adam and Ali were very nice. Ali kind of hurried up, but Adam was chatty and very happy. Again, it was really cold and 11:00PM.
Alex took a little bit to come out, but he was great. You could tell he was exhausted, but he hung around and signed and chatted with everyone

When there is a large crowd, I try not to ask any questions and just say hi and thanks. I did talk to Celia for a few minutes because I went to college with her sister. She was so gracious and asked more questions about me than I asked of her!
I got Lea the other night and she seemed a bit divaish. She wouldn't talk to me and when I tried to talk to her she just brushed me off.

Someone mentioned...either here or some other board I was reading tonight...that Lea has been dealing with a throat-related illness. So, she might have been avoiding talking because of it.
I was walking by the Broadhurst last Friday night about 11:20, and the barricades were up but there wasn't a single person waiting! (There were a couple of groups of people standing around chatting, but none of them seemed to be paying any attention to the door.) I thought that was really odd. Do all the cast members come out that quickly?

Lea was out almost right after the show. And yes I think something might be wrong with her throat...she didn't really say anything when she came out.
Lea's not a diva at all. She's having throat problems infact, she missed the Saturday show.
