I had rented this off of Itunes awhile ago. However, due to me being busy I didn't get to watch the whole thing and got maybe to the beginning of the second act. However, what I saw I loved.
I am working/living at a summer camp that works with kids with autism etc. I did reserve the TV to watch this tonight but I don't know how well that will go over with everyone else however, we shall see.
For those of you that saw it in the Chicagoland area, where did they put the pledge breaks? The guide on my TV says its scheduled to be on the air from 7 to 11 which leads me to believe that the total amount of pledge ads will be around an hour. Is this true?
In any event I am very much looking forward to seeing this.

Is anyone else's PBS station not airing this? According to my guide on TV it's not on tonight, and I'm kind of confused as to why.
You might want to check the PBS website itself. According to the guide on the TV Guide website, it's not being aired. However, the PBS website as well as the guide on my TV from Dish Network both say otherwise.
WTTW in Chicago is airing it twice tonight, back to back, and that pleases me as my DVR was groaning about recording Shameless, Celebrity Apprentice, and the first airing of Les Miz all at once.
I did see the last hour when it aired in Chicago a few weeks ago and it appeared as though the pledge breaks were on the hour. Just an educated guess, however.

It is airing in St. Louis right now.
There was a pledge break after "Who Am I"
The pledge break after Who Am I, makes more sense to me. According to the guide on my TV it says that on the NYC PBS station that it is scheduled to run from 7-11. This leads me to believe that it is three hours of concert plus an hour total of pledge breaks.

Sorry, there's a Craigslist Killer movie on Lifetime so I will be otherwise engaged.
Pity that they cut the inn keeper's sequence. You'd think for the 25th Anniversary they'd keep it all in tact.

I'm tivoing it right now. I can't wait to watch it. I'm must excited about seeing Lea Salonga since I grew up listening to "A Whole New World" in "Aladdin" as well as all of the songs she did in "Mulan."

Well, I'm fairly disappointed. I get two different PBS locations: one is playing Laurence Welk, while the other is playing the Troubadors.
Is this under Great Performances? One station is playing the Harry Connick Jr concert at 8, so maybe they just put the wrong description? That'd be nice. I am on Eastern time..
My sister lives in Toledo, OH, and apparently they aren't showing it tonight there, either. It's not airing on her stations until Thursday at 1:00 in the afternoon.

That's odd because I live near Toledo as well. Neither of my stations are the Toledo one, but they are probably the the closest ones. I wonder what PBS has against NW Ohio..
Singtopher,
Considering that it is a concert of the show, they did cut things. However, there is more in this concert then there was in the one that was celebrating ten years of the show.
Pity that they cut the inn keeper's sequence. You'd think for the 25th Anniversary they'd keep it all in tact.
No, you wouldn't. It's still a concert.

Recording this direct from PBS tonight onto DVDR.If anyone needs a copy, please e-mail me privately. thanks
I'm watching it now and it's good, but I'm having trouble dealing with this mixture of full production and concert version. Having everyone in full costume, but not really talking to each other and singing into the microphones is just awkward. Just pick one format and go with it.
Norm Lewis is fantastic though, continuing to prove that he is one of the most talented performers today.
The format in terms of having people in costume but singing into the mics is the same thing that happened at the Albert Hall Concert as well. It's not exclusive to this one.
Oh I know, but I still have trouble with it. I just don't find it to be that effective.

Loving it so far. Lea Salonga's performance was breathtaking, IMO. I think the only weak link is Nick Jonas as Marius, but I could be biased because I know he's a pop singer. Alfie Boe's singing is great, but I'm not thrilled with his acting.
I'm sad about some of the cuts, but at least they kept some crucial moments (i.e. Fantine becoming a prostitute and the beginning of Act II), unlike the 10th Anniversary concert.
It'd be cool if they could get Ramin Karimloo to play Enjolras in the Les Miz movie they're working on...
Jonas is painful to watch... especially beside the others on that stage.
Joe Jonas' version of "Empty Chairs" can't even come close to Eric Kunze's version from his CD, "My Collection" available for download on iTunes or Amazon.
