Posted: 5/28/05 at 1:56pmWouldn't it be refreshing if these actresses, who suddenly get threads dedicated to them, whom I generally can't even put a face to, could get proper publicists instead of having people shamlessly plug them on this board? What a novel idea.

Posted: 5/28/05 at 2:22pmAl Dente, I did not start this thread, but seeing Ms. Kritzer in PaperMills "Grease", "Urinetown"Tour, and "Hairspray" on Broadway, I CAN put a face with a name, and mark my words, you WILL know her soon, she is the brightest upcoming star on Broadway, and one of the most versatile actresses, with comedic timing out the wazoo, and a voice to match. I just thought the news was fun and interesting to those of us who appreciate her talent.

"Shelley and understudy for Tracy, Velma and Prudy/Matron/Gym Teacher."
Wow...such a wide range of roles, if I'm saying that correctly.

Really? Mark your words, she's gonna be a "huge star"? Where? In muscial theater because that's basically a contradiction in terms. I live in L.A. and see many "huge musical theater stars" out and about and no one gives them a second glance. And Marissa Winoker(sp) is a bit hard to miss. That's just one example. All that being said, I still think it's trashy to shill. And even sadder if any producer would actually take any advice on this board to heart. That would speak volumes.

Posted: 5/28/05 at 5:35pmHey Al Dente, I did not post this hoping a Producer would see it, she HAS ALREADY been cast, and I do think she will eventually leave Broadway as a rising Star and make it to LA for movies or sit-coms. She is a young Liza Minelli look alike, and a Fanny Brice clone! I can't see into the future, but I think she will do very well, and again, I posted this for her fans to see who had been talking about her on this board, that is the only reason. Why would a producer read posts on this board? I just did not follow that at all! That was a weird statment. I usually like your posts, but I am just a person wanting to share good news...gees!

I'm not coming down on you, I, being the self appointed shill police, simply find it odd that someone would mention a VERY obscure, tiny and terrible (imo), show from last years NYMF that "Kritzer would be perfect for" and suddenly someone else comes on to basically say Kritzer has a great new job. It smells really fishy to me. And my last post was directed at Whatyouown, not you Starlite.

wow, Al Dente. you remind me of someone i knew once, who always bristled at discussions of other peoples' talents and prospects, because it somehow made them feel inferior, or wonder "why isn't anyone talking about ME and what a huge star I'M gonna be?" they always saw other people's success as their failure, even if they never met this person, or were thousands of miles away. the funny thing is, they would never just say that. instead, they would mask their feelings in sour comments like the ones you just made, about how sad it would be if producers really looked on this board and came across someone like Leslie.
rest assured, those people wouldn't need to scour this board to find out about Miss Kritzer. a lot of important people have already taken notice. she's a powerhouse talent, and true to what many people in this thread have said, she's going to be a huge star one of these days. and, it's probably not going to be just Broadway. my impression, after seeing her a couple of times, is that she could be every bit as big as Carol Burnett, or Lucille Ball, if given half a chance. she's one of a kind, and a really cool person.
so, to those of you who are "shilling"...you couldn't be speaking up for a better product.
(ps...al dente...the person in that story was me, before i realized what a waste of time such thinking was)

Posted: 5/28/05 at 5:51pmMy good friend popcultureboy and I joked about the rousing chorus of "Al, you're just bitter and miserable that no one is talking about you" we were eventually going to read on this thread. If I haven't said it 2,000 times already, I'm not, nor have I ever been, ever wanted to be, a performer. But I do however, keep forgetting that you can't tell the truth on this board unless it is the "imaginary truth" of others. And since we're being honest, Kritzer, from what I've seen, doesn't exactly have movie star looks. And yes, being a tall, thin male with a good tan makes me TERRIBLY jealous and bitter that no one thinks I'M going to be the next Lucille Ball. WAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

Why do you care so much about someone voicing their appreciation for a performer? It's really not that big of a deal.
And if it is a shill, who cares? Does it really matter that much?

Al Dente, one more thing, and then I will be off to play for my SAturday night, if I can find someone to play with!! first of all, I do not know what a "shill" is, sorry! I like seeing as many Broadway shows as possible and seeing new talent in their first shows,as leads or ensemble members,or Tours, as well as those who I have come to admire and have really paid their dues, and also the famous ones who come to Broadway from LA to appear in a production. Early on I thought that Jennifer Hope Wills, Sara Ramirez, Cameron ? from Hairspray and Jordan Ballard, Jenn Gambatese, Hunter Foster, Orfeh, Idina, Roger Bart, Adam Pascal,Cheyenne and several more including Kristen Chenoweth when I saw her in Steel Pier, would make it in some way! I have been right on a few so far! and to top it off, when I saw the Naked Singing Cowboy in Times Square several years ago, I thought, this guy's got a real gig, he is going to make a fortune! ok, i am done, enjoy your Holiday weekend!

for your info. I saw that they were having auditions for it trailier park,, and I thought she would be perfect for it. I had no idea that she was going ing for it, or even had gotten an offer.
but even if I did, I would still say it. who cares if I am a "shill" for a girl that probably dosn't have a publicist, or marketing manager. I see things on this board all the time for michael arden, Natalie Joy Johnson, Cheyanne Jackson, barrett foa..need I go on. and I think that Leslie is easily in this company of performers if not better. IMO. don't know her, wish I did. she seems kool.
and with my luck, maybe i should say that she should be elpahba in wicked..maybe it will happen.:) I think sometimes it's okay to say nice things about people on this board instead of trashing them because of peoples bitterness and insecurities about themselves.

Posted: 5/28/05 at 9:52pmOh, so NOW I see why Al Dente was trashing me for saying Leslie could do Ariel. Yes, I think she will be a "huge" star in terms of Broadway, I.E. Idina Menzel. It almost seems as if you have something against her, and clearly now you're just being ridiculous. You didn't even know who Kritzer was and you're bashing us for voicing our affection for her. You're bashing us, the few fans who HAVE infact seeing her live doing a phenomenal job, when you said in the other thread you can "finally" put a face to her, then proceed to essentially bash her looks.

Al Dente, who is that in your icon? I can't tell, but it looks like someone I know.
Good for you that you don't want, have never wanted, will never want to be a performer. It will save you lots of heartache, and there are far easier ways to make money.
As for being a tall, thin male with a good tan...I'd love to know someone in real life one day who feels it necessary to comment on his tan as a positive aspect of his life and/or personality. You may not be the next Lucille Ball, but with any luck, you'll be the next old weathered handbag sitting next to me in the audience, somewhere in twenty years.

I'm just bumping this to remind Al that you're just bitter and miserable that no one is talking about you.
