Posted: 8/1/12 at 5:00pmIt took me a while to find this thread again... LOL! I loved Elena Roger in the role! She was fantastic when I saw her on Monday, July 23!

That GMA performance was fantastic. Everything I have seen and heard of Elena continues to impress me. It also sounds very much live to me.
Remember, Patti's voice is often very grating/sometimes unpleasant to general/casual listeners.

She did good. The choreography was distracting and annoying. I may be the only one who thinks its self-indulgent and doesn't serve the piece well. Ah, well. Being the only one never stopped me before.
I still find her accent distracting. To clarify, it's not that I find accents distracting. I find HER accent distracting.
That is so awkward performing outside with all that traffic and noise. Not to mention, the elements!
You can view it either as a test of endurance of talent under any condition or a merciless public execution of the talentless that only the talented survive!
I still think it's just GMA laziness/a-holism in not establishing a proper performance space. Shoving them out on the street with random screaming people standing around is just weird.
