Let's talk about SHELLY BORT — Page 2

While I doubt Shelly started her own "love" thread, who cares who really started it. She's a very talented composer whose music I've been enjoying for years (and I hope not to come across as a shill as I've also been on this forum for years although less frequently recently). Whoever posted just wanted to share Ms. Bort's music. What's so bad about that?

I love how people goofing around translates into "everyone hat(e)"ing Shellie Bourt.

I believe all the people who joined today to talk about Bortinski are all different people. A little touched in the head and decidedly humorless people, but different people nonetheless.

Sure, but read the comments that were made before sbort appears. Do anyone of them indicate she is hated by anyone, let alone universally? Ghostlight said she has a nice voice, I made fun of the guy using all caps, I don't know what BorstalBoy said because he edited his post, and newintown accused the poster the performer in disguise, which wouldn't be unheard of in these parts.

This board is like it always is. We don't change things for new non-performer posters who come in acting like fools; why should the rules be different for celebrities and wannabe celebrities?

I also want to add that I've never understood why the people who are critical are presumed to be failed performers? If your (the royal Your) life is so great (and clearly that's the implication being made when someone suggests that criticism always comes from a place of failure), why do you need to come on a message board to defend yourself?

I am really baffled by your rancor, especially when it comes to my post, smeroney. I wasn't judging the singer, I was judging the song (well, okay, and maybe the singer's judgment in the choice of the song). In fact, as Phyllis pointed out, I said that Ms Bort had a nice voice. The song, on the other hand, was borderline offensive, with it's depiction of a gay man "who doesn't sashay" (you mean they all don't?), who crochets, loves ballet and a hotdog buffet (really? Gay men love a hotdog buffet?).

Before you accuse me of lacking a sense of humor, you need to review your junior high school argument posts, not to mention timdbilyeu's juvenile profanity-ridden ones (seriously, "suck my left nut?"). You aren't doing Ms Bort any favors with your brand of "defense", and you come across pretty poorly in the process, not that I imagine you care. I would hope you do, Ms Bort, and that you will talk your friends down from being so offensive. If you can't take a little ribbing from a bunch of anonymous message board denizens, and this is the way you react to criticism, you really aren't going to get very far, and maybe you aren't cut out for this business.

With friends like yours, who needs enemies?

Also, I'd lose the photo that begins and ends your youtube link shown here. You're an attractive woman in any form, but that photo does not at all represent the you that you are in the videos, and if you're using the video to promote yourself, misrepresentation is something that people who do the booking resent.
