At that time in history, especially in Europe...it was understood that the man should always be older than his bride.

It's not my favourite show, but I do enjoy it. I saw it this summer with my family, and my father absolutely hated it. My mother and I liked it though.
I like it because it has tremendous acting (mostly by Clark), and it is alot simpler than alot of shows. Simple plot, and alot of great songs that have alot of heart an emotion.

Aaron Lazar........holy cow. My friend went to college with him and is good friends with him. He's incredible.
I'm not really a fan of Katie Clarke. She has the whole child-like thing going on, but her acting...I just find it annoying. I enjoyed her "The Beauty Is", but that's about it.
Has this been how Victoria Clark has always done the role? She must have changed something, because I remember loving her last year, but now I find myself annoyed.

I finally understand why everyone raves about Victoria Clark. She's incredible.
And I mean no disrespect to the performance of Patti Coheneur, who was in when I saw the show.
But wow.

wackjack132 - I detest this show. I had bought the tickets for my Mother, but she couldn't go. My father and I went instead....he walked out during intermission. I refused to let my money go down the tubes.
It's just as bad now. At least the cast is great.

Yes! I can see Katie as Glinda. Her voice is soprano-y and ...Glindaish.
Victoria Clark is awesome and the others are just stunning!

I hate to post this, and I apologize, but if anyone is planning on transferring this to DVD please private message me. I'll pay you whatever you want. Those of you who are recording in high quality, are you splitting it and putting it on two DVDs? I can't express in words how happy I am that this masterpiece has been preserved.

This evening was fabulous. Nothing can beat the original cast of anything, but this comes really close. Excellent performances!

I agree, I really enjoyed it. Why does that guy keep saying "The Lights in the piazza". I believe it is just the light, not the lights. he's said it three times now.

Well sadly it didn't air tonight where I was
and I've yet to find any listing for it in my area at all. So luckily I got a hold of my nana in NY and she recorded it for me! I cannot wait till she sends it to me :)
