Thanks for your review BroadwayGuy12. I'd pay for that ticket just to watch this -
Carrie Compere plays a variety of characters (as do most of the cast members), and is given the most show-stopping number with "D.O.A.," which she totally nails.

I enjoyed it a lot and think it well captures the energy of the books. I think the actors "play" kids a little more than I'd like rather than just playing people. The show gets a little bogged down by all the information they try to get across (and they condense a lot) which leads to some of the character relationships getting underplayed. Anna Beth and Percy need a song together in act one to really establish their reladtionship early. The show's run time is only two hours if they added a half an hour with songs that really show the growth of the Percy, annabeth and grovers relationships with maybe more of the Gods (Ares and Hades seemed underplayed to me) they'd elevate the work much more. My favorite song was the one between Percy and Sally because it really establishes their relationship which some of the other characters lacked.

Me and my friends really enjoyed it! Honestly, the casting was amazing, especially Percy himself, and the songs were good. None of the songs were memorable, but good nonetheless. It was clear that the show was low-budget judging by the sets and costumes. Overall, a cute little show to see with your children for their birthday or something. It won't last long...

The cast album is temporarily previewing at EW. As this is Broadway Records, the album probably won't be put up on Spotify or similar, so seize the day if you're interested. I've listened to a little; it doesn't grab me but I'm in the wrong demographic.

It's great that these preview cast album listens are being made available, but as I think others have said before, SoundCloud is irritating. The app freezes up, and the alternative, trying to listen to an extended SoundCloud playlist (eg a cast album) via a browser, has its own problems (for me at least). I wish they'd use something else. /rant
