Who knows. Doubt that it could work (Chronicle...?) , but it could certainly be popular.
It was mentioned that Margo Lyons is a producer and Ted Sterling the musical director.

it might be popular
but i think they should do The House of the Spirits... that would be interesting
only as a play though

Well...that would be interesting. I love the book, and one would think that magical realism would do well in a Broadway musical, but alas.
I hope they put the recipes in the playbill.

I loved the book. I loved the movie. I'm interested to see where this goes.
Mandi, good idea about the recipes!

That is my favorite film followed by Cinema Paradiso.
Doubt it will work as a play but it is a fab film.

I actually thought the movie was very good, considering that there was just no way to do the recipes. Of course it doesn't compare to the original book, but nothing ever does.
I would love to see LWFC onstage. No idea if it would do well, but I'd go.

What went through my head was, "why on earth are they adapting the MOVIE instead of the BOOK?" I didn't think the movie was that good, but the book was amazing, so why wouldn't they just adapt the original?
Also, in the article on BWW, it said Margo Lion was also developing a Monsoon Wedding musical. Now THAT I could go for, if it's done right and uses Indian music styles :)
