Hi, I'm coming to New York in April and the friend who is coming with me is desperate to see the Lion King(I'm not so keen, but I'll go with her anyway). On this website under the Lion King info it says tickets start from $79.50, but when I try to buy tickets, the cheapest I can find are $122, even trying different dates. Are there actually any cheaper tickets than this? Or have I just missed out by being too late? Thanks very much for any info you have!

What website are you trying to buy tickets from?
Depending on what dates you are looking at, the cheap seats might already be sold out. (If you are looking the 3rd week of the month, that's a big public school vacation week.)
Oh okay, that might be my problem, I didn't realise it was a holiday week! I might just try convince her to come see something else with me. thanks!
And since there are so few "cheap seats", they go fast.
So many new shows will be playing by then.
I was in your same boat, will be there 2nd last week of april and was hopeing for something cheaper than the $80. tickets ( when it was at the New Amsterdam there were cheaper tickets) anyways, when I went to book there were like only 1 or 2 for that week so i managed to get one before they were all gone, and its at the back row also. I'd recomend going to see something else, you can't really appreciate this show from the back, I do it because I love the show and want to see it whenever I am in town so I dont mind sitting in the back.
