Perhaps Rob or Craig could enlighten us about this? I am not sure what the policy (either written or unwritten) of pictures and videos at curtain calls is at most theaters. For regular performances, I could see there not being a need for either. But for such an event like this?

one could argue that the performance isn't over until the out music is played, which is after bows and the curtain is rung.

ONce again such an amaazing show..it was such a feeling! i loved it, i sat in row D center orchestra and could see all the little things, the best was when they scene would cut away and the stuff norbert and john did as the sets were drawing back. Norbert was absolutely fantastic in GBS, he just went all out on it. And in Dirty Rotten Number it was incredible cause the words seemed soo true for both of them, or at least that's how it felt. And i love how we litterally had a standing ovation for John in DRN and then after norbert was like "sooo uhhh yeah anyways" and they were laughing. Such a priceless performance.

If the curtain, music, or any part of the set is in the picture/video you need permission from the creative team to reproduce it. You can't do things like take a picture of yourselves in the theatre.
From the look/sound of how many vids and pictures are out there, it seems that they may not have been concered with it at the point of John's speech, so you may be alright.

I am really glad all of you enjoyed the performances, it seems like a wonderful emotional night.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

thank you everyone for the reviews pictures and videos!

And thank you John Lithgow! And also Andrew Anses who will also be missed!

Sounds like an amazing night, and now DRS can go on to a new chapter with their new leading man-good luck to Johnathan!

In answer to some of the above, yes John went up on those lyrics in the final song ... and both he and Norbert had a laugh over it.

The people on the front row who were so into it were a group from South Carolina who really enjoyed the show.

And no cameras of any kind are permitted to be used at ANY time in the Imperial (whether or not the stage is seen in the photos)...ushers were stopping people from taking personal photos inside the theater last night before and during the show...but with all the excitement during the curtain speeches they allowed all photos, taping, etc. then without trying to intercede.

How was the stagedoor compared with the way it usually is? Updated On: 1/16/06 at 07:37 AM

Aww, yaay for Southerners, I love their accents!

"yes John went up on those lyrics in the final song ... and both he and Norbert had a laugh over it."

Umm, I'm sorry, it's early for me but I'm a bit confused as to what you're referring to.

Horton, the DRS stage door tends to vary a lot so it's hard to say in comparison. Some days/nights it's packed, some times there's not many people there at all. But it was fairly packed last night. Still, if not the one, the entire cast of DRS IMO is one of the nicest on broadway, and all stopped to sign or chat or say hellos despite wanting to get to the party. And it was fairly cold.

It was understandably crowded last night. Plus, it was frigid last night at the stage door yet they still all signed. Poor Jonathan Pyrce stayed to sign for everyone. Basically, everyone but Joanne Gleason came out and signed.

I think it was right before Norbert started his part of the song, maybe the end of the second verse? I just thought John got caught up in the emotion of it all. John admitted it so at the final speech.

Oh okay, yeah John paused the song b/c he was teared up. I'm sorry I just didn't quite understand what you meant by "went up." Thanks for clarifying.

I love your signature quote! It makes me <3 those two even more!!

I wish I could have seen the show the other night. Heck, I wish I could have seen it once more with the original cast! IMO, Norbert and John had great chemistry together. I miss them already, even though I know I won't be seeing this particular show again...if that makes sense. LOL!!
