I have to imagine part of the reason Caesar got bored was because Little Me was overshadowed by A Funny Thing Happened on the Forum...

We went out of our way to make the revival recording have as much of the comedy as we could squeeze in, because the other two recordings, as fun as they are, don't really give a sense of the hilarity of Simon's book. Cy and I went over the entire script (Simon gave his blessing to what we chose) and chose what we thought would play funniest as a listening experience, and, of course, Marty was thrilled to get to do so much on the CD. I still laugh when I hear the whole long boat sequence, which, I have to tell you, was done in one take - I was petrified we'd get behind on that and have to edit it like crazy, but everyone was just so on top of it and the cast got a huge ovation from everyone in the booth.

Well the original is going to be pricey! I have all 3 recording and perfer the Revival the best! It's so fun to listen to the whole thing!
