Little Mermaid Denver presale
Little Mermaid Denver presale#1
Posted: 3/18/07 at 1:05amJust a tip for those who are planning to buy Little Mermaid tickets for Denver - I was originally going to buy mine when they go on sale to the public tomorrow at 10 a.m. Denver time, but a quick Google search turned up a presale code. I think it expires at midnight Denver time tonight (so at 2:00 a.m. Eastern), but just thought I'd let people know that I was able to buy tickets early using the code. It's supposedly a promotion for Disney Visa cardholders, but I was able to buy my tickets with a Citi MasterCard.

"Tom hopes the show and not the cast will sell tkts"
Isn't that always the case for a Disney show? Most people who buy tickets to a Disney show (or I would venture to guess, most Broadway shows) have no idea who is in the cast.

Posted: 3/18/07 at 2:51amIt's because the show is a name in itself. No one really goes because they care about whether or not [insert famous name in here] is in it. Of course if someone famous was in it, it'd be an even bigger draw, but Disney is already so popular that they don't really need a star vehicle.

Posted: 3/18/07 at 9:52amThe tickets, as far as Disney goes, are pretty cheap too, 77 bucks for top price.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, singtopher, but it doesn't open until July 26.
And I bought tix, not because it's OMG DISNEY!!!! but because this is the first time (to my knowledge) that a show has done its out-of-town tryout in Denver. And it will be my first opportunity to see an original cast (or most of the original cast; I'm sure there will be casting changes between July and November).

re: Little Mermaid Denver presale#11
Posted: 3/18/07 at 3:45pmI have yet to see anything on TV promoting the show here in Denver. If they are promoting it on TV, they don't seem to be promoting it much. A lot of people still don't know that it is opening here. It definetly does not have the advanced hype that "Lion King" had when it started its national tour here. More people, that I speak to, seem to know about "Wicked" returning then the World Premiere of "Mermaid". I have a block of seats for the 21st of August. I didn't get my dates to select from until a week ago, and Disney wanted a deposit just days after the dates for groups were sent out. For the last 2 shows I did groups for (Lion King's return and Wicked) they gave us a few months just to get the full amount in. No deposit was required. I will know how sales went today when I talk to friends at the Center tomorrow.
