Think it will pick up when the new cast members are in place?

Doubt it. They're gonna need bigger names than Joey Fatone to pick themselves up.
I'm still supporting the "Cyndi Lauper as Audrey" campaign.

Posted: 6/7/04 at 9:03pmI personally think Colleen Fitzpatrick should play Audrey. She was great in Hairspray and she has somewhat of a name for herself. But then again, so does Fat-head....*Sigh* So depressing to see BOTH Hunter AND Kerry go...

I have said this many many times before, and I will say it again--
I love Kerry with all my fangirl heart. But it actually makes me HAPPY to see her leave this role because of all the b*tching people have made about it. The miscast that was NOT her fault has given her a horrible reputation in many peoples' eyes, and it hurts me to see that.
Please, put this show out of its misery.

I like the show a lot.. think its tons of fun. (Also would have loved to see Sills get a Tony nom, but thats another story.)
Have seen it 4x, but have absolutely no desire to see Joey Fatone in that role... AT ALL !!!!

Posted: 6/7/04 at 9:11pmYeah. I aqgree. I haven't seen it yet and I think it will taint my view on the show if I see Joey Fat-Head prancing around the stage rather than Hunter. Or some shmuck rather than Kerry. Unless it's Angelina Jolie....hmm...never gonna happen.

Posted: 6/7/04 at 11:22pmNo one has mentioned Robert Evan taking over for Doug Sills. There's a lot of MAN there. Think he'll bring in the "Jekkies?"

Posted: 6/7/04 at 11:33pmHow funny was Doug Sills? I just saw the movie on HBO, and I think he and Steve Martin were very alike in the role. So funny.

Posted: 6/8/04 at 1:04amRob will definitely make it his own. He's got a fantastic voice and he was very funny in Johnny Guitar. Won't be enough to save the show, but rest assured the Dentist is well-covered.

Posted: 6/8/04 at 11:52amThey will pick up. You saw what the boyband droppings did for RENT when he joined.... Now the Virginia and 52nd Street will house obnoxious, screeching teenboppers and gay men with VERY bad taste

Posted: 6/10/04 at 6:50pmIs anyone else worried about the fate of LSOH with Hunter already gone, Kerry leaving and Doug leaving shortly thereafter? Better question: Is it even worth caring about without Hunter? Hm...

well hunter was the nly hold over from the first stab so maybe a third almost clean slate will be the charm

Posted: 6/10/04 at 8:48pmHe, Mushnik, and the Plant where the best parts of the show. And the Urchins. I think without Hunter, it may not survive past July.

Posted: 6/10/04 at 9:30pmThat's the problem with the show. It was not written for someone to say "the plant, Seymour, Mushnik and the Urchins were the best part of the show". No one ever said that when Greene and subsequent actresses of her caliber, starred in the off-B'way version. It shouldn't be the case now. The poor choice in the original casting of Audrey was one of the main reasons for the lukewarm respose to the show. Sorry CB.

I think if the replacement leads are at all adiquate, this production, which I still like (as does most of the audience), will still be well worth seeing.
Just my opinion, I may be wrong.

Posted: 6/12/04 at 8:56pmDoes anyone else think that Ellen Green sounds like there's a stick in her as* or something? I do, however, find it quite helarious and amazing at the same time when she sings. I mean she's good, but the way she carries note to note makes you want to cry out, "I'M A VERY BAD GIRL, MAMA!" and want to be spanked. Don't mind me. Bordum is a bi*ch.
