Does anyone have a review of the Little Shop Tour in general, including Audrey's understudy Yvonne something...? Thanks!

I didn't see the understudy but I thought the show was quite good. The cast was all strong and the physical design was great. My only problems were with the sound and the size of the theatre here in Chicago, which I trust will not be the same in other cities!

The cast is very strong. Audrey's understudy looks A LOT like kerry butler, and her voice is very pretty. Jonathan Rayson sounds a lot like Hunter Foster, and his acting is pretty good. The guy that plays Orin (sorry, don't remember his name off hand) was passable...but by no means did he come close to Douglas Sills. Michael James Leslie made a frightening Audrey II, and the urchins were in tip-top form.

I saw the tour back in November but it was fantastic. My boyfriend and I loved it. I did see Tari Kelly perform as Audrey and she was really good. I have heard great things about Yvonne as well. But since I never saw the understudies perform I couldn't say. I recommend the show regardless of whether an understudy is performing or whether the regular cast member is performing. It's a great show to see and very enjoyable.

I have to say, I saw it in Chicago Saturday (mat.) and it wasn't in too good of a shape - though it may have had a lot to do with it being in way too big of a theatre. I saw the Aurdrey US, and she looked OK next to everyone else, especially Orin, who was absolutly dreadful. There was also an US in for one of the Urchins, and I heard that at the Saturday night performance, ALL THREE URCHINS WERE OUT and the US had to do it all alone! So get seats up close and hope that the sickness going through the cast is over (except for Orin) whenever you see it.

So only one urchin went on? or all understudy urchins?

I saw it a few months back when it was in SF and liked it very much. Tari and Anthony were really good but the urchins stole the show in my opinion. They were fantastic!!

I saw it in March and was head-over-heels about it. I was not a fan of Kerry Butler's Audrey (although I am a fan of Kerry), but Tari Kelly knocked my socks off. Also, she's a very sweet person. I checked out her website after the show and sent her an email saying how much I enjoyed her performance and had hoped to come say hi after the show (but alas, I was with 5 other college students who were like, "No, I'm hungry, let's go to Taco Bell *whinewhinewhine*"), and she emailed me back, asked for my address, and sent me a Playbill autographed by the entire cast!! I obviously haven't seen the understudy, but I have heard good things. Terrific show (better than it was in NYC in my opinion, though I heart Hunter Foster).

yep the tour is fantastic! go see it! very strong performers! I saw it w/anthony and tari, the urchins did steal the show i agree!

I saw it awhile back and Tari Kelly as Audrey was worth the price of admission alone. I also got to see Anthony Rapp as Seymour and he was amazing as well. The cast as a whole was great except for the guy who played Oren. I can't remember his name. Definitely see this show.
