To whoever asked about the understudy on Saturday night...

Chris Gunn was fired from the production a couple of weeks ago, and Jim Stanek is now the understudy for Laurie, Bhaer and John Brooke. His first performance was Saturday night. He was really good, a lot better than Chris Gunn, but I think the only problem with Chris was that the songs were not in his range at all. He was cast before "Take a Chance" was written. The song was written for Danny Gurwin and a lot of the notes at the end of the song were meant for a higher tenor, and were just out of Chris's range. I did enjoy Jim Stanek though.

thats **** how could little women have a cast recording so soon..and dracula was on broadway for 6 months and NEVER had one...thank god for bootlegs...but still thats ****ty cuz little women wasnt even good..

Well... it doesn't really matter how "good" a show is. It costs a lot to produce a CD, and unfortunately, Broadway cast recordings don't have the same selling power as mainstream music. Absolutely horrible shows have gotten recordings and some great shows will never have recordings. It's up to the producers.

I am soooo excited for the cast recording!!! I don't have the demo CD or whatever...and the broadway.com video is going to have to hold me over until it comes out. Its almost Aprail though!!! yay!!!!!!!!!!

And Little Women is good

Someone jsut tried to send it to me via AIM, but since they ripped it off of a cd, it's protected and won't let me play it

I really liked the score too (minus one or two songs) because it is like a classic broadway score ala Rodgers and Hammerstein/ Jerome and Kern, etc.

ahh me neither, i just saw it this past wednesday, and sutton foster is beyond brilliant. i almost cried several times, her acting is so touching when need be, yet also hilarious at parts. the cast recording needs to come out sooN!!!

Little Women will be released by Ghostlight through Sony/BMG on May 30th.

Spelling Bee will either be the 23 or 30th.
Altar Boyz will be the 17th and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels May 10th. Isn't it all so exciting!
