DGRANT...can u please explain to me...what exactly is a "mid-western deadness behind the eyes"?? Do all midwesterners have it? Is it curable...is there hope for us from the midwest to lose this affliction?? Is it contagious...? Please...enlighten us!!

there's no recording of her in miss saigon. she was the original ellen on broadway. but there is no recording of that cast. claire moore is on the original london with jon pryce and lea salonga. ruthie henshall plays the part on the the complete syphonic.

Liz "freaking" Callaway is one of my favorite performers of all time. My playlist of only her is most played on my computer. I am obsessed with every song she has ever recorded, especially those from Baby and Brownstone and her renditions of Infinite Joy and I'd Rather Be Sailing. New Words almost takes the cake though, from Unsung Musicals. Soooo beautiful. And I <3 The Beat Goes On and The Story Goes On soooo much that I make everyone listen to them. Liz's 'Simple' on the Maury Yeston Songbook CD is gorgeous. And seeing her sing Meadowlark in Standing Ovations 2 will be something I'll never forget.

Random story... Liz used to host a children's show in Boston years ago (called "RTG" - aka: "Ready To Go"). I was a guest on it a few times and we cooked chilli together once during a cooking segment. She was the nicest person and so sweet!

I love LIZ! i first heard her in "Anastacia" and when I watched the second Aladdin (when they sing Out of Thin Air) I was like OMG that's LIZ!!

I think there are so many words to describe miss Callaway. One word that springs to mind is very, very 'pure'. Exactly how I feel when I listen to her sing. (especially 'Infinite Joy') Cleansed all over! Kind of like i've been baptised...although I wouldn't know what that's like.

I have to agree with the posters that find Liz' voice pure and beautiful. She's a lovely singer.
But...I am not a fan of her sister. Her voice drives me up a wall.

Liz is brilliant, competitive and well read. She sees the "darkness" but she is infinitely pragmatic and doesn't get bogged down. To say there is a deadness in her eyes is to parade ones own blindness.
Her sister is versatile and growing all the time. What is it about her voice that bugs you LcZ? Any number of composers & publishers say she does definitive versions of their songs. I think she has grown tremendously as an artist in the last 5 years and her fame has grown exponentially. She is much more famous than Liz now.

I adore Liz Callaway! She has a song on her Loesser album, "I Wish I Didn't Love You So," I listened to the song for six months everyday on my way to work.
And on Sibling Revelry cd with her sister Ann, she sings the most beautiful version of "My Heart Is So Full Of You" I've heard so far.
Love her.

I saw her in Cats when I was about 8. I don't remember her performance that much but I remember her sounding really good.
