i was wondering if you get a picture with a star, will they normally autograph it for you or is that rare?
When you go to the photo booth next to the celebrity table, they put the polaroid into a cardboard sleeve/frame thing, which the star then signs for you.

Polariod? LOL! Someone still uses Polaroid? It's 2006. Maybe they should go digital already.
My first camera when I was a little child:
"Meet the Swinger, Polaroid Swinger. It's more than a camera, it's almost alive, it's only 19 dollars and 95."

If the weather is suppose to be as crappy as they are saying (windy, rainy, scattered thunderstorms) will the flea market still be on or is there a rain date?

It's on rain or shine unless it's unbearable. I haven't heard anything that bad for tomorrow, except scattered afternoon showers.
Note: The 20th Annual Broadway Flea Market is currently scheduled to go on rain or shine. If Sunday morning brings truly terrible weather, a decision will be at that time about postponing the event. Full details will be made available on the website.

According to today's NY Post...."THAT sexy new "Law & Order" detective Milena Govich will join her on-screen partner Jesse L. Martin at tomorrow's Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction in Shubert Alley.".

If it's rained out I might be more than a little upset!

I'm sad because I can't be there anyway but weather.com says:
Variable clouds with scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High near 80F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60%
That is for zip code 10021.

so the question is what will they do. Maybe they'll have it in the morning and just be prepared to pack up early! I don't know! This is one of my favorite events of the year so I'm praying that it's still gonna happen!

weather.com just changed its forcast and says rain all day HOWEVER, it says rain for right this second yet it isn't...the hourly forcast says 40% rain all day tomorrow...and obviously there won't be a steady rain for 24 hours...so we may luck out....

yes it may say rain or shine but then they contradict themselves by saying If Sunday morning brings truly terrible weather, a decision will be at that time about postponing the event.

That's not contradicting anything. That's saying if there's a monsoon, they're gonna cancel or postpone.
If it's scattered showers all day, then they're not cancelling.
Scattered doesn't mean constant.

I'm still holding out that the weather won't be too terrible tomorrow. From the reports that I've been seeing it looks like it'll probably be just ratty enough to make it a pain in the ass, but certainly not enough to cancel anything.
Whatever, it'll be fun anyway!! Got my tote bag all ready, and I've got a couple window cards to get framed at the Triton table. Fun, fun!!

I've been checking every forcast because I'm extremely paranoid because I've been looking forward to this since literally last year & most of them seem like we'll be ok like Mabel said- it'll just be a pain but prob won't cancel it. Can we guarentee anything? No...but the hourly forcast on weather.com says 30-40% chance of rain all day tomorrow...meaning 60-70% chance it won't rain. It says rain for right now and it isn't raining...it's actually kinda sunny here (long island). So I'm hoping to get there around 9:30 with all the booths being set up with big smiles all over as everybody gets excited to spend spend spend!

If you have a statue of the Infant of Prague, put it on the windowsill facing out. The nuns used to tell us that God will never let it rain on the face of the Infant of Prague.
It rained several years ago and things were moved indoors. It was quite nice actually.
I don't think I've gone when it rained. Did they move everything inside? I thought I read they just moved the celeb table and the costume renderings table inside. Guess we'll see how it all pans out tomorrow.
ETA: What I'm really not looking forward to is if it's kind of drizzly having everyone walking around smacking into people with their umbrellas. If there's one thing that pisses me off, it's masses of people walking around with umbrellas when it's really not raining hard enough to warrent them! And having to dodge hundreds of umbrellas in Shubert Alley and on 44th is going to be more tiresome to me than getting wet. My motto is always, until it's raining so hard I can't see through my glasses, you don't need an umbrella!!
That list looks good. I'm not sure I'll be able to go tomorrow, even though I'm volunteering.
