Hi Everyone
I need 3 or 4 songs about angels and/or devils to perform in a week and a half. They need to be easily accessible. Ive thought of "Blow Gabriel Blow" (already know it so that's easy). Also found "Two Lost Souls" from Damn Yankees but not so sure. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!
Could you use "Those Were the Good Old Days" from Damn Yankees?
-"Angel of Music" from Phantom
-haven't listened to it yet, but the Love Never Dies recording has a song called "Devil Take the Hindmost"
-there are some lyrics in "So Anyway" on the recording of Next to Normal that say "They say you should stay with the devil you know
But when life needs a change
And the one devil won’t
You fight to the devil you don’t"
-From "Younger than Springtime" from South Pacific- "Angel and lover, heaven and earth are you to me"
-"Steppin to the Bad Side" from Dreamgirls?
OK, those probably aren't entirely helpful, but maybe they can put you on the right track. Good luck!

I don't know how accessible they are, but here are some:
"How do you Speak to an Angel," from "Hazel Flagg."
For devils there's a good song in "Greenwillow": "What a Blessing" ("to Know There's a Devil.")
"The Happiest Girl in the World" has a clever one: "Never Be-devil the Devil."
If I come up with any more, I'll add them.
"Dance with the Devil" from Witches of Eastwick

Here are a few more:
"I Married an Angel," from the musical of that name.
"One More Angel in Heaven" from "Joseph/Dreamcoat"
"The Devil You Know" from "Side Show"
"Wrestle With the Devil" from "Whistle Down the Wind."
"Hold On" from SECRET GARDEN has this lyric:
When you feel your heart is poundin',
Fear a devil's at your door.
There's no place to hide-
You're frozen to the floor!
What you do then is you force yourself
To wake up, and you say:
"It's this dream, not me,
that's bound to go away."
Hold on,
Hold on, the night will soon be by.
Hold on,
Until there's nothing left to try.
Child, hold on, There's angels on their way!
Not a bad tune, either.
How about somethign from "Phantom of the Paradise"
Half asleep I hear a voice
Is it only in my mind
Or is it someone calling me someone I failed and left behind
To work it out I let them in
All the good guys and the bad guys that I've been
All the devils that disturbed me and the angels that defeated them somehow
Come together in me now
Face to face I greet the cast
Set in silence we begin
Companions in an empty room I taste their victory and sin
To work it out I let them in
All the good guys and the bad guys that I've been
All the devils that disturbed me and the angels that defeated them somehow
Come together in me now
A tale of beauty and the beast
I defend my soul from those who would accuse me
I share the famine and the feast
I have been the world and felt it turning seen the jester yearning to amuse me
Like a circus on parade
Seldom close enough to see
I wander through an angry crowd and wonder what became of me
To work it out I let them in
All the good guys and the bad guys that I've been
All the devils that disturbed me and the angels that defeated them somehow
Come together in me now
Mirror Blue Night- Spring Awakening
'Shoes Upon the Table' from Blood Brothers? Really it's about superstition, but practically every other line is "now you know the devil's got your number". XD

Well. I started singing 'Going Down' from Hair as soon as I finished watching Supernatural tonight. So that's all I can think of.
Lucifer, both an angel and the devil.
