"No two shows are alike in the making. Each show is a living piece of your life in a small unreal world with its own character and integrity; its own new set of memorable experiences and incredible happenings. You begin to love and adapt to its strangeness. Dreams harden into substance. Values come into focus. You wish it would never end. The dream world vanishes like mist before a rising sun; part of you vanishes with it. And back you land in the real world with a thud- fogged, uneasy, jittery, difficult to get along with. There is only one cure. A new show. A new, small unreal world; new visions, experiences, incredible happenings. Again you love it, adapt to it, wish it would never end. But end it does. Another part of you vanishes. That's show business."-Anonymous

Hah,

I just found out that someone I know is in consideration for Merry, and his roomate is up for Pippin! I thought that was pretty entertaining.

I dont know much about the show, will they do any of like

The score is much more operatic than "Musical". The composers are using various ethnic sounds from around the world to simulate all the different cultures in Middle-Earth. I am not even a huge fan of LOTR, but am excited to see how they translate the ideas onstage. I think they are going a more theatrical route (like Lion King) rather than just trying to translate the stories exactly onstage.

Meh. Whosever idea this was should be shot. It better be reeeaally good. I'm extremely overly obsessive-compulsively protective of Tolkien.

Yeah I'm not exactly crazy about the idea of a musical version but it'll be interesting to see how they translate the different cultures and whatnot on stage. I will be a bit dissapointed if it's EXACTLY like the movie, scorewise, costumewise etc just because with the money they are putting into this project, it'd be a bit disappointing to see a carbon copy of the movie just on a stage instead of on the TV. But by the sound of the music on the site, it doesnt sound like it'll be a big issue. I'm very interested in seeing this process of production, and especially in who they cast.
