Hah,
I just found out that someone I know is in consideration for Merry, and his roomate is up for Pippin! I thought that was pretty entertaining.

I dont know much about the show, will they do any of like
Merry and Pippin's drinking songs from the movie or will they base it off some poems from the book..hmm...

The score is much more operatic than "Musical". The composers are using various ethnic sounds from around the world to simulate all the different cultures in Middle-Earth. I am not even a huge fan of LOTR, but am excited to see how they translate the ideas onstage. I think they are going a more theatrical route (like Lion King) rather than just trying to translate the stories exactly onstage.

I will be a bit dissapointed if it's EXACTLY like the movie, scorewise, costumewise etc just because with the money they are putting into this project, it'd be a bit disappointing to see a carbon copy of the movie just on a stage instead of on the TV. But by the sound of the music on the site, it doesnt sound like it'll be a big issue. I'm very interested in seeing this process of production, and especially in who they cast.
