Lottery Seats need advice

coming to NYC and taking my nephew. I want to see a few shows and don't want to pay full price since seen most. He is 13 and never seen a show. I did buy us tickets to see school of Rock but now need advice on rush/lottery for certain shows...are the seats good or not worth it?

Lion King

Aladdin

Trying to think what a 13 year would like

Lottery Seats need advice

A few things:

1. In general I think it's best not to rely on a lottery to see shows coming in from out of town. Having said that, these 2 lotteries are different in that they tell you whether or not you won on the morning of the show rather than a couple of hours before. Make sure to do your homework on when the times to enter the online lotto are, and when you get the notification.

2. Can't speak to the quality of the seats, but for $30, I expect it's worth it regardless.

3. You might be underestimating your 13-year-old's ability to enjoy more sophisticated theatre. Don't get me wrong - I'm 20 years old and I love all three shows you mentioned. But if you picked them just because they're appropriate for young people, you might be looking in the wrong places. There are many other shows playing that a 13-year-old could potentially enjoy, that aren't necessarily "family friendly" shows. Some that come to mind are off the top of my head are Waitress, Les Mis, Something Rotten, Curious Incident, Kinky Boots or Matilda.

I won the Aladdin lottery about a year and a half ago - our seats were the very last row of the mezzanine. great view for what we paid. Unsure where other winners were placed.

As said above I wouldn't rely on lottery for these shows. I won the in person lottery for Aladdin. when it was still held at the theater, and I got a box seat. These lotteries are pretty hard to win (obviously not as hard as Hamilton). The good thing the lion king is you find out in the morning, so if you lose you can try something else. But as I already said they are very hard to win. Rush might be a better option to ensure you can get a ticket if you get there early enough. Aladdin or the lion king don't have rush but you can go to broadwayforbrokepeople.com and that'll tell you what each show has.

I agree, do rush. Maybe look off Broadway. Try Avenue Q. They do rush for front row. I think it is $27.00 cash. Can't beat that.

It's very hard to win digital lottery for bway shows nowadays. I won the in-person lottery for Aladdin and got extremely far left side orch seats.

I also think it's better to do rush.
