Posted: 1/23/12 at 2:17pmThree-year-old me sat through Beauty and the Beast with my hands over my ears, or so I'm told. I remember being terrified by the Beast jumping out at Belle when she's in the rose room.

The play NEXT FALL opens with the sound of a car crash that is so loud that you feel like you were just in the biggest wreck of your life.
No one warned me and I almost pooped my pants backstage.

- Sweeney Todd whistle.

I'd say the loudest I've heard over all was, wait for it, Spider-Man. it always depends where you sit, yea, but in the open house its fuc*ing loud!! which, for me, I love tremendously. American Idiot was loud too, but their sound rigs were not as full as spider-man.
Mamma Mia's entr'acte and Lyssie J's opening were both like piss your pants moments haha.

the Beasts roar in Beauty and The Beast during the west wing scene the entire audience jumped.
Mama Mia Enter'acte: It scared the crap out of the audience when I saw the show so abrupt.

In addition to going to the theatre a lot, I also love going to rock concerts. That being said, most rock concerts are louder than any show on Broadway.
I agree with Mamma Mia's act two opener. To me, it has to do with the volume of the music and the fact that it comes out of nowhere to start act 2. I don't feel the same with the start of the show because even though the volume is the same, the pre show announcement takes away the element of surprise.
I also don't like gunshots at all. To me, it doesn't matter if I have seen the show before and know when they are coming. I will still cover my ears for them. I have very sensitive hearing and that is something that makes me jump and unhappy regardless of if I know it's coming or not.

Posted: 1/30/12 at 12:34amThe gunshots in Les Mis. Also when I saw the 1NT of Wicked in Hartford right before the cornfield/catfight scene the crashing noise from the tornado was so loud everyone thought the theatre was collapsing, it shook the seats and the walls.
