Posted: 9/20/06 at 6:00pmI'm happy for Cara! Sad that she'll be leaving, though. Who will cover Holly (and be as good as she was at it) while she's gone?

well I imagine that if shes gone for a while or permantley, they'll find a new ensemble member, but I know that Nicolette Hart is also a Holly understudy, so who knows what they'll do really. At least if Amy is going to be out for any perfomances since Cara will be gone.

Oh btw, I'm Amanda! I've been reading this board for the longest time I just never posted. I loooove The Wedding Singer more than I can begin to tell you, have gone backstage and know some of the cast members. I've seen the show 4 times, once with Laura and the other times with Tina, I'm a huge Tina fan, but I like Laura too...and am going again to see the show on Sat. I'm looking forward to chatting with you fellow Wed Heads..you all rock!

Jeez! That's quite a list. Joanne makes a funny Donatella.
Did anyone go to the show tonight?

Posted: 9/20/06 at 9:50pmI'm not used to there being a big list of understudies and not seeing Kern's name up there, haha.

Wait... Joanne covered for Christina AND Cara? How does that work?
(Or, Angelique covered the other parts.)

Well, it is pretty skimpy tonight. There was no chubby lady at table 9 tonight. Bad haircut boy sang the Twinkie line. There was also an empty stall in the first half of Pop.
It seems that Angelique and Joann are jumping back and forth between the tracks (Cara's, Christina's and Adina's).
I'm sure someone else can fill you in on more exact situations. Those are just the scenes I popped in during.

Joanne also covered Ashley's track while she was on her honeymoon.
That does sound... skimpy. Too bad.
Did you get to pop in on any of Rosie's scenes/songs?

Yes. . .Ms. Sivrich is a very cute Rosie. If you squint, she looks 70-ish. But only if you squint.

Posted: 9/20/06 at 10:57pmSo does Adinah cover some of Christina's roles or something?
#2219re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

Adinah was out, so Angelique and Joanne were covering 3 ensemble tracks. I wish I had seen how they broke that down. Joanne couldn't have been both the sideburns lady and Donatella though; it's the same scene. Too bad Christina couldn't have jumped into her track during that scene so they had all the table 9 mutants... or for Pop for that matter.

Posted: 9/21/06 at 12:44amThe show was SO much fun tonight! It was SO fun seeing so many understudies! Cara is AMAZING as Holly as always! Christina blew me away as Grandma! She is SO hilarious!!!! I'm SO happy that she's finally had the opportunity to go on. NOW I just want to see her as Julia! Matt was GREAT as Sammy! It was fun seeing Cara as Holly and Matt as Sammy considering they are normally dance partners. It just fit! Besides the fact that the audience was completely dead it was a fantastic, fun show tonight!

I talked to Matt Sklar tonight and he said Christina actually went on in Seattle too, but that Rosie's material was very different there.

I think my favorite part of the show was when Stephen Lynch was all, "I'll dance your mama all around the room..." and there was nobody there. The expression on his face was so 'WTF?' it was awesome. So he kind of flailed his arms a bit instead.
Also, Christina is amazing as Rosie. At first I was thrown by her speaking voice (think Kristin Chenoweth) but once I got used to it she was really good. She was soooo ghetto during the rap, it was hilarious.
