I don't care how many people complain that I just made this thread - I felt it needed to be here, because I mean, if people can talk about how much they dislike it (and if you're one of those people... please take your negative comments elsewhere) I thought there should be someplace for people to talk about how much they LOVE it! ...Especially since it doesn't have it's own message board like some shows. Haha.
I have only heard one song- the one they did at the Tonys, but I loved it. I have not stopped listening to it on itunes. I hope to see it very soon. So- I appreciate that song!
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
I love it, because it is the most fun I've had at a Broadway show in awhile. The best cast in town! The best choreography! Just the best. Every single ensemble member is fantastic as well as the leads.
"People have their opinions and that doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong or right. I just take it with a grain of salt because opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one".

The show is very fun. The supporting characters are very fun. The score is fun. The Act I Finale is the best part of the show. Other than that - CRAP!
Out of all the shows I went to in June, this was the show I wanted to see again. Because I had the most fun at it. But I wouldn't see it more than twice. The book is awful. I didn't care AT ALL about the relationship between what's his name and what's her name.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Hahaha, quite the back-handed compliment but it made me giggle nonetheless. :) And I really, personally, don't think the book is that bad. But I mean, if you're expecting Light in the Piazza or something up to par with that.... woo-ee.

Ooh, I really hope you get to see it soon, too! That song is fabulous and I think the rest of the show is just as much fun. :) I couldn't wipe the grin off my face when I saw it, honestly. From the second the curtain went up to the second it dropped, I was just a very happy camper.
They have one of the hardest working ensembles I've seen. The whole gang is just stellar. Lynch and Benanti are just adorable and their comedic timing is impecable. Still dont get the big deal about Amy Spanger, but she's wonderful too.
The music is so damn catchy. I wish it wouldn't be stuck in my head daily. *sigh*

I'm dying to see this show. I own the cast recording, got it TONY night alongside DROWSY CHAPERONE and adored it. I'm planning to hit rush on the days I'm in NYC to see this show. I adore the music, I cant wait to see it live.
Everyday when I open my iTunes,I listen to TWS. Everyday when I log in message board,I search TWS. Everytime when I'm walking with my iPod,I listen to TWS. Everyweek when I'm thinking which show I should go to,there is always a voice in my mind~The Wedding Singer.
It should go without saying how much I love Wedding Singer. The leads are absolutely hysterical and talented, and the ensemble is absolutely incredible. Talented, gorgeous and so hard working and having more fun than any other show.
The music is infectious and puts a smile on your face. And that's all I ask for in a show, something that makes me smile.
HAROLD NEVER TOOK A PATERNITY TEST ON TV!!
- David Fonda, The Wedding Singer
I love Wedding Singer because it's a fun musical. The movie was amazing and it seemed to transfer on stage almost effortlessly. The OBCR is just one fun catchy song after the next and my little brother even enjoys it. And he doesn't like many musicals.
I've never seen it, but the music is so gosh-darn infectious! I listened to it straight through a bunch of times, and always feel gushy after the ending. I think the music's perfect for what it tries to be: cute, endearing, silly and FUN. I can tell how great the actors are simply by the OCR - so much personality is brought to the voices. The music/story/recording makes me . It's like a party on my itunes!

I haven't seen it but I'm addicted to the cast album and I have loved Stephen Lynch's work for years, and it makes me so happy that he has been doing such a wonderful job on broadway!
I really want to see this show around the 10th of August but I'm waiting for a discount code. I check often but sometimes forget so if someone finds a discount code, could you PM me and let me know? Thank you!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this show. I adore the lively, catchy score. The book is deliciously silly and the cast is top notch. Stephen Lynch is perfection. I was never bored. Long may the wedding singer croon!
wow... there are people out there that like this musical. i saw it on wednesday with my friend and it was amazing! honestly i originally went for kevin cahoon. i love his solo album. but the show is good. one of the best i've seen this summer. the music is catchy. i love the 80's and all it's references. the best scene in the entire show was the "flashdance"/saturday night in the city/act 1 finale. it was so good. i would defintely see it again if i had the time and money to.
thespian geek: haha it is a party on your iTunes! one big 80's party.
