Oh, Patti. You're fabulous.
But what in the hell are you wearing?!

Yikes, I remember seeing this when it first aired.
It was the 80s. You should have seen what the rest of us were wearing.
And, yes, she was THAT good.
Her hair.
I am speeckless.
Ugh, love it. Patti's post ass-kicking-rendition giggle gets me everytime.
Sidenote:
In Rainbow High she sings "So Lauren Bacall me, Anything Goes"
In Anything Goes she played Reno Sweeney
Then she was in Sweeney Todd

Ugh I cannot stand her voice
Weren't there a lot of gay night clubs in between Anything Goes and Sweeney Todd?
I loved the hair. Strangely enough, I don't remember "Evita" in 1980.. the year I graduated from high school. I didn't know that site existed. In a bold move, I decided to check out the "Coco" segment. Katharine Hepburn was wonderful in her acting part... but her "attempt" at singing reminded me of how Donald Duck would sound like while wearing Chanel drag. The sound was so painful that I didn't finish the clip. from RC in Austin, Texas
It's bizarre how she sounds almost exactly the same but I almost didn't recognise her physically until she started doing the lip thing.
I forgot how much I love this song. She still terrifies me in every possible way, and if this were anyone else, I would've said, "What the HECK was that dreadful thing?" But somehow, I can't bring myself to dislike this performance...
I love that outfit in all its absurdity.
her interviews on Merv Griffin were so charming, though. she was such a little lamb in a lot of ways when she was younger.
She was, is and always will be a force of nature, like a cyclone or a tornado, as few others are.
Sometimes I'm amazed that anyone who was alive in the '80's still has any hair left, what with all the crap that we put in our hair to make it look like that...
Patti is, of course, fabulous
AUGHHH, I love her.
God, I wasnt born until '86. I feel...young.

Wow. She pretty much eats every other Eva for breakfast, not to mention the Diet-Evita we saw in the movie.
Did she even breath during that performance? That was brilliant.
Amazing!!! Thank you for sharing
My favorite Evita is Elaine Paige. Here she is much later doing Don't Cry for Me Argentina....

I think there is another one (not sure if it was Merv or one of the others) where they interview her before she sings. I wish I could see that interview again because when I had first seen it, I had always wondered if she had done a little sniff-sniff before doing the interview.
The hair - does anyone think that's a wig? She was obviously wigged in Evita and would that much natural hair fit under a show wig?
Love how the fountain starts when she begins to sing. I wonder what that's all about.
