Per Variety
"Patti LuPone, Jessica Biel, Sherie Rene Scott, Paulo Szot and Oscar Isaac are among the thesps lined up to participate in next week's reading of the Lincoln Center Theater tuner "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown."
Chita Rivera also was said to be in the mix, although she's no longer participating the multi-day developmental session.
Cast list is set for the reading only and not for the show's upcoming Broadway preem, which LCT will produce at the Belasco Theater in a run that begins previews in October."
And if Chita is still involved and just not in the reading, I'd have a gay panic attack if Rivera, LuPone, AND Scott were in the same show.

Patti LuPone wont be there until the 8th. She will be in Chicago till the 7th.
So disappointed Salma Hayek is no longer involved. She possesses the right acting style to pull off Almodovar's complex tone.
I'm sure Scott will be great but a pity we won't be getting Salma. She's quite a good replacement though and it's time she stars in her own show! When I first heard about LuPone I wasn't sure, but if she's playing Lucia, this could actually be a really fun role for her. Szot is dreamy. Is Isaac playing the Antonio Banderas role?
This is so exciting. I really hope LuPone and Chita will do this.

I would love to see Jessica Biel on Broadway, she is gorgeous and talented and seems very down to earth.

Please, let that be the cast. And directed by Bart Sher? Bliss.
It seems like LuPone would thrive on Sher's musical theatre directing approach, too.
I would love to hear LuPone sing a presumably pop Yazbek score. Would be a nice change for her these days.
LuPone would have to be playing Lucia.
Unless they've rewritten it, the entire concept of the film for the lead character (Pepa) is that she is trying to track down Ivan to tell him that she is pregnant.
LuPone is beyond the point of being a believable expectant mother.
MichaelBennett, that's what I hope. I just couldn't imagine that LuPone would take what is really not that big of a supporting role, then again, it might be a la par with Pepa in this adaptation. Is Szot playing Ivan then?
Scott as Pepa sounds like an interesting choice...I wonder how that'll turn out.
Jessica Biel must be playing the woman the Antonio Banderas character is with. Isn't that too small a role for her? It'd be odd to have a movie star in that role and Sherrie Rene Scott in the lead.
The same book-writer was able to beef up Scott and Gleason's parts in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Yazbek. I'm sure they'll turn up the volume if needed. Since it's a non-profit run I don't think having a movie name in a supporting role will be as big of an issue as it would if they were relying on a profit based on her name. I'm excited! I think I'll make a weekend trip just for this and to watch Love Die in the Fall.
