And someone needs to hit Titus in the back of the head with a shovel until he drops that damned voice!!

Lauren needs to figure out how to deliver lines without sounding lobotomized.
I suspect Dizzy Des was trying to make a Brechtian style comment on the fact that these charaters and their situations are NOT based in reality but are a creative interpretaion of an talented writer. I'll see it later in the month and see how close I am.

I would definitely agree. They travel a fine line between realism and artistic interpretation. It is a beautiful juxtaposition, which gives fuel to the story. Let's remember this is theater... and a musical.
I think Lauren is great as Adelaide! And am very thankful she does NOT over due the "voice", but instead makes the character her own. Her cute mannerisms add so much more to the character.
I think Titus is wonderful! I would cast him as Mary in THE SECRET GARDEN, just to hear that voice. Great, out-of-the-box thinking by the creative team to use him as Nicely Nicely.
And for those of you who have not seen the theatre... WOW! The difference is incredible. Get there early to take it in before the lights go down!
