I like it much better than the London artwork...

It's pretty tacky. It looks like the covers of those Disney 45 records you had as a kid. I actually kind of liked the UK artwork, though it kind of looked like a bedsheet at a Laura Ashley bargin outlet.

While it isn't as good as the original artwork... it isn't bad.
I like it.

Yes, I also am totally phsyched about this coming to Broadway! Hopefully they won't lighten the show up TOO much from the London production.

Yeah I definately like the London poster better, but I don't hate the US one either.

re: MARY POPPINS Broadway Artwork Revealed...

I always thought the London one was a bit... awkward... just somehting didn't mesh with me...

but this one is interesting... it's very sixties. And not like it's re-invention mock sixties... but looks like something taken right out of the period. However, I think the font for MARY POPPINS is incredibly modern... and the two of those don't work together. At all... if they either modernized the artwork... or used a different typeface... it would be lovely. re: MARY POPPINS Broadway Artwork Revealed...
that's a really big mic...

I think I Need a bigger picture to decide if I like it or not, because I cant tell if thats a skyline or what the hell that is, and does anyone have a pic of the London artwork?

I like the London version better. It shows that they're really reimagining the show rather than putting the movie onstage (which is a little bit what they're doing, but not as directly as Beauty and the Beast). It reminds me too much of a cartoon.

"I think I Need a bigger picture to decide if I like it or not"

dito.

I have to say, Cameron Mac is usually a genius at giving a show a universal symbol that doesnt ever need to be altered, something that you always associate with that show.

Here, he as failed in both countries.

(Is he also producing Tarzan? Cause THAT is a great logo.)

To me, so much of my desire to see a show rides on its logo (shallow, I know). But I never really had much interest in seeing Woman in White cause of its bland logo.

Outstanding logos: Phantom, Les Mis, Cats, Lion King, Rent, Wicked, Avenue Q, etc.

Um, that's also the new London logo. The old artwork is gone daddy gone.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

I also enjoyed the original artwork...I thought it looked much more magical. I don't think bad artwork will keep people away. "Mary Poppins" is a name in itself and people will come see it (those who want to) just because they want to see the show. I do agree that artwork definitely should give us a taste for what the show is about and I just think this new artwork is missing that magical something.

Wonder what happened to the original London artwork?
I do love it. I love all things London.
