I am looking to buy Mary Poppins cheap seat tickets, and it says this for the seats I am looking at buying:

"SEATS IN BALCONY ROWS G THROUGH M HAVE
A THIN STRUCTURAL PIPE IN YOUR LINE OF VISION.
THIS PIPE SHOULD NOT INTERFERE WITH YOUR SHOW EXPERIENCE"

Can anyone give any insight on this, does it affect the view of the stage at all, and is it horizontal, or vertical? thanks!

They are vertical pipes and one reason they had it was for the people who were afraid of heights...but I believe there is another reason. Also, I don't think it would get too much in the way, but I have never seen the show from the balcony.

You don't miss anything. They're vertical polls which connect the balcony to the roof. There are about a dozen or so.

Yankeefan007 - I agree it does not interfere at all with your vision

I sat in M2 in the balcony on October 20th (and am in the same seat for December 19th) and I had a full view. No obstruction at all. I didn't even notice any thin pipes.

I thought this was a review at first saying Mary Poppins had a thin structural pipe of a plot or something. Anyhoo, carry on!

I put some detailed comments up about this the other day. There are some seats that the pipes are more problematic, though by no means totally blocking the view or anything:

"I thought that that was just going to be a like one shot deal for me, you know, but they kept talking about it like, 'when we do the production, when we do the production', and I was like, 'yes, yes, when you do the production, cool, I will come and see it'". - John Gallagher Jr. on SA
