It appears to be on Channel 9 in NYC.
Is there a schedule to know when different shows/people are performing?

The telethon’s website has a list of stations (and if you have cable, WGN is airing it all night).

"Dystrophic illness...this curse that attacks children of all ages." -Jerry Lewis
"Lord knows nothing's less dignified than sitting in a wheelchair." and "...sitting in a steel prison...." -Jerry Lewis
On thinking about using a wheelchair: "I would realize my life is half, so I must learn to do things halfway. I may be a full human being in my heart and soul. Yet I am still half a person." -Jerry Lewis
"My kids cannot go in the workplace. There's nothing they can do." -Jerry Lewis
"If you found out you had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, you might as well put a gun in your mouth." -Jerry Lewis
"...Pity. You don't want to be pitied because you're a cripple in a wheelchair, stay in your house." -Jerry Lewis
"If it's pity, we'll get some money. I'm just giving you facts." -Jerry Lewis
IS THIS REALLY A GUY BROADWAY WANTS TO SUPPORT? Give the MDA money, but do it any day except on the day of this telethon. Please.

If those are direct quotes, that's truly disturbing.......and even more so, are peoples' further requests for song/show listings afterwards....yikes

its alright, i appreciate that everyone enjoys an opportunity to see their favorite show perform and i even appreciate that the show has raised tons and tons of money for MD research.
What saddens me is that after years of protests and even acknowledgement of the protests from the MDA, their format remains relatively unchanged. Ive seen Jerry Lewis interview a successful sports writer and end the interview by patting his head as if to say, good boy you learned a new trick.
This year I put the show on for a total of five minutes and saw a man standing interviewing some wheelchair bound users which honestly makes for awful camera angles and they often opt to show the wheelchair bound guests from above the waist or higher, and of course I had the show on long enough to hear the lovely and condescending "jerry's kids" tag line.
But the flaws are somewhat endless and it really depends on your views. Some people with disabilities feel that finding a cure is misdirecting money when so much could be done to improve the lives of people who already have it. Others take it a step further to attribute their condition to a part of who they are and why would they want to irradicate that. Others still support the telethon.
I dont have MD, I wouldnt mind a cure for my disability and I think research is a worthy cause but Im positive money could be raised while still showing these individuals in whats called a people first perspective. And theyve GOT to be able to find a better spokesperson.
And on the accuracy of the quotes, if you do a google search for MDA telethon protests, the very first page loads with a sound byte.
