Posted: 10/21/03 at 11:18amSeriously? Really? A performer of Mexican descent can only aspire to Mexican roles? That's ridiculous.

Posted: 10/26/03 at 11:11pmThe only one i can remember, even im 24 y.o. is Manolo Fábregas a great mexican musical actor who was the Fiddler On The Roof. Hope mexican or/and latin people can get more lead roles. Just as Manolo and Bianca Marroquín (Roxie Hart in Chicago last year and now Roxie in the Northamerican Tour).

Rent was really good in Spanish.
But the italian takes the cake. The most beautifull Your Eyes I have ever heard.

Yes it has been, well at least bootlegs of the languages, can be found on Kazaa I know. I will check on actual recordings of it, I once heard a japanesse version, twas sad, some languages just don't transpose well to great music. CAN you imagine Milliein Japanesse what wouuld they do to Graydon's song?! LMAO

Posted: 10/28/03 at 8:55pmWell, yes, just bootlegs, in spanish. The spanish and mexican version. Both are from the sound cosole ( at least the ones ive heard ), so with a 10 quality sound. If you have the chance to listen to it, Angel in the Spanish ( Madrid ) version, was Jano, mexican actor, who was swing and Angel in the Mexican one. C ya guys!!

Posted: 10/28/03 at 8:59pmI was always amused by the notion of Rent being sung in Italian. Just seems so.... full circle.

Posted: 10/28/03 at 9:09pmSorry Jano i meant he was swing and Angel understudy in Mexico. Angel in Mexico was César Romero, an excelent Angel.

Posted: 10/28/03 at 9:16pmThere is a recording of the Italian cast....I was fortunate to see it in Milan...loved it. A very beautiful "Yout Eyes" and awesome "Take Me or Leave Me" I think you can get it at www.footlight.com or something like that.

Posted: 11/2/03 at 5:44pmIf Gaby Garcia rumor about she will be the next Velma Kelly in Chicago, she would be the second mexican actress to get a lead role in Chicago and Broadway after Bianca's Broadway debut last summer, that would be great! She is a great Velma, had the chance to see her performing Velma in Mexico and she is FAB!
