Oh no - wondered when this was happening. I was going to take out of town friends to Pippin at the end of April. Who is Patina's replacement? She was a big reason I was recommending this show.

1016 and about 35 to 40 people in the rush line.
FYI, the show's not up at TKTS today. Via telecharge, less than 50 seats remain.

They only had 25 rush tickets today.

The show was magic today, only rivaled by opening night. I wish Patina and Matthew all the best. Looking forward to seeing the new cast members. They have some big shoes to fill.
It's been an interesting year following this show. From doing the recording of "No Time At All" with the incredible Andrea Martin, to the friends I made in the rush line, to Tony night. I think it's time for one more show with the new cast members and then time say goodbye. It's been a blast and completely unforgettable. Break A Leg! or Merde! (for the Frenchies) and a huge THANK YOU to the cast, crew and staff.

In hindsight, it's kind of ridiculous that people on this board had a heated debate last year about whether Laura Osnes was more deserving of the Tony Award than Patina, isn't it?
No disrespect to Laura, who is beautiful, talented, and was wonderful in that role. But Patina was just on a whole other level.

Went to the show today. The crowd was great. Long entrance applause for Patina and Matthew. There was a palpable tension and energy throughout. Chris Sieber was excellent, almost as good at Terrance Mann. Patina was crying during the finale.
They will both be hard to replace.
The only disappointment was there was no speech at the end. Two little girls brought out bouquets of flowers for Patina and Matthew and the cast was applauding them.
It was weird that they didn't do the Broadway Cares speech at the end. Don't they normally do that? There was no collection at the door and nothing offered. I would imagine that Pippin must be participating in collections so was it just not done today because it was their last show? Seemed a bit odd since they would certainly have raised a lot of money with so many diehard fans there.
Great afternoon though! Did anyone wait at the stage door today?

I was there today. I hadnt seen Pippin in almost a year. Patina Miller continues to bring so much to the show and I honestly do worry seeing the show without her. She was in perfect voice and really handled the extra applause well.
Matthew James Thomas was excellent and in good voice today. I will miss him as Pippin.
Christopher Sieber is a perfect fit for this show and and ad-libs wonderfully. I thought he was hysterical.
The rest of the cast is in great shape stil save for Annie Potts. She has an understated sense of humor that might of worked in another role, but did not work for Berthe for me. Andrea Martin will alwaays be it for me here. Annie also did not seem very comfortable with the acrobatics and Matthew had to help her down. The confidence that Andrea Martin brought to this role was definitely missing.
Overall the show is almost as thrilling as it was when I saw it at the first preview. I hope it lasts a long time on Broadway as it is innovative and thrilling. Best of luck to the new cast coming in. Happy to see Orion Griffiths back in the cast as well!

Was also at the show today and got one of the rush tickets somehow(from waiting in the SRO line - which was sold around 2:10[9 spots only]. It was simply electric. Tons of energy from everyone(including the audience) and lots of emotion. Tons of applause for Patina & MJT's entrances. Rachel Bay Jones was very emotional during "I Guess I'll Miss The Man" & Patina & MJT during the finale, as well as several cast members(Molly Tynes, Charlotte, Anthony Wayne - from those I saw). It'll be hard to see the show again without Patina. I was also disappointed there was no speech afterwards, I mean Patina did win a Tony for her role. And according to the usher I talked to, the show was sold-out all weekend. I have to wonder if anyone else is leaving the show(ensemble members)??
I believe many shows don't collect on Sunday. Likely because it is most actor's friday and they are exhausted. (But that part is pure speculation on my part.)
Yes, Pippin not collecting on Sundays is a regular thing.

Dave1606 Matthew has helped Annie down off the trapeze since day one. It's was their "thing".
I will never forget this day. Truly amazing performance, especially from Patina. The little girls who brought out the flowers were Diane Paulus' daughters. I stood at the back of the house with Diane and Ciara Reneé, along with other family and friends. You could definitely feel the energy in the room. At the too of the show people in the audience started a clap until the lights went down. This was my first time seeing Annie as Berthe and was slightly disappointed. Also really was looking forward to buying a signed poster, however (as stated) the usher told me they don't collect on Sunday's. If there is anyone willing to purchase one on my behalf in the next few weeks please PM me!!! Hoping it will have Patina's signature.
Did anyone try going to the stage door after their last show? I'm wondering how crazy it was and if MJT and Patina came out.
Any speeches from them at the end or just the normal curtain call?

Are you being sarcastic or did you just not read the thread?
There would be nothing sarcastic about posting that in a thread I haven't been involved in...
I skimmed the thread and didn't see anything about speeches except there was no BC/EFA speech at the end. If I missed something, oh well... Sorry.
Allow me to answer your question then:
The only disappointment was there was no speech at the end.

How hard is it to read the posts when a thread is one page long?
The stage door was a zoo. Everyone came out except Charlotte, unless she came out after Patina & MJT. After those two came out everyone left because it was raining.
