I'm guessing this belongs on this board. Has anyone seen it yet? Does anyone know if there are rush tickets available? The cost for this thing is all over the place.

Not the same show. But an actual, linear musical of the same story, "Journey to the West, the Musical" is one of my favorite shows. Can't understand how it never went anywhere. You can listen to the whole think here...

Saw it Sunday night, visually impressive, was somewhat let down by the narrative. It seemed as it went on that it was gymnastic routine more than a theatre piece. The music was interesting and some of the scene were arresting when they arrived at the visual objective they were aiming for in the story. But Sunday, the performers were either tired or not focused, or maybe a character driven performance was not what this piece was all about. Spent about $100 to sit in the second tier. If I were to see it again, I would sit higher to get the fuller impact and not spend as much money to be closer to the stage, there didn't seem to be much to be gained seeing the actor's faces, at least for me.
