Posted: 7/21/08 at 4:06pmOh man, James Marsden would be great as Fiyero. I really like the younger/older casting. I think it will be interesting to see the show more accurately. It's always been hard for me to tell how long has passed between the 2 acts and it would be clearer with 2 different actors.

Posted: 7/21/08 at 4:45pmKristen Bell has zero star quality. Not to say she can't sing and dance, she just doesn't have IT, and never will. Actually Amanda Seyfried is auditioning for the part in cinemas around the world as you read this.

Why are images not working on this? I found pictures that showed how similar they are. Damn =(
This is based mostly on looks, but it could work:
Young Elphaba: Lea Michelle.
Older Elphaba: Idina Menzel.
Young Glinda: Hayden Panettiere.
Older Glinda: Kristen Chenoweth.
Young Fiyero: Zac Efron.
Older FIyero: James Marsden.

Posted: 7/21/08 at 5:28pmCan we not just go back down the old hollywood route where big names were cast and their singing voices were dubbed? It's fine getting great actors for these parts, but I'm kinda getting tired of weak vocal performances in movie musicals.

Sorry, but Hayden is a TERRIBLE singer. Amanda Seyfried is okay but not good enough for Galinda.
I miss the days of dubbing, too. Even if it was sort of a sneaky business.

I only picked Hayden because she was the only short blonde girl who looked like Cheno, could sing and has a 'name'.
It's harder than you think haha

Actually she seems to be not good for YOU. In the real world, "Mamma Mia" is a smash and Amanda has gotten across the board raves. People are falling in love with her.

In the real world, she has a breathy voice that could not handle Galinda's high notes.
It'd be Emmy Rossum in Phantom all over again.

Posted: 7/21/08 at 7:55pmI love Amanda's singing voice, but I think her vibrato is a bit much. Otherwise, I think she'd make a fabulous Glinda.

Her vibrato is fast and uncontrolled because of her lack of breath control and proper support.
She's a great actress, but she doesn't have the vocal chops for Galinda, at least not at this point.
