I am sure a ton of middle schools will put on 13.

A lot of community theaters will do 13 and Legally Blonde and Hairspray i think and the other hows will be done too just not as much but amazing my director has has his eye on 13 since it came out
Was that English?
No surprises here. I was pretty confident that Spring Awakening and 13 were going to MTI. The new website design, however, is a travesty. It's definitly not an improvement over the last design and I still don't understand why they list shows that are restricted with no information about the show and no hints as to when the right will become available. Or why they list shows as restricted and then list all the companies that are doing them in the coming year.

I like the new design. The old one was woefully inadequate.
I wonder if the language was changed for Spring Awakening, similar to the "high school version' of Rent. I imagine this property will be more popular with college theatres than high school.
Agreed...next year, every middle school will be doing 13...Lord help those poor communities..
Xanadu should be fun. I'm going to suggest it to our director for next year.

And they're also handling the rights to Dracula and The Drowsy Chaperone. That's cool.
Hey, I liked both shows equally. What are ya gonna do?
Dracula is interesting. I wonder which version they'll offer. There are so many.

It's the Frank Wildhorn version if that's what you mean.
No. I mean, there's several versions of the Frank Wildhorn show. The La Jolla version, Broadway, Post-Broadway and German to name a few.
Wasn't there a nude Lucy scene in Dracula? I suppose that's been cut out....

CATS, check your PMs.
Did you guys see, there's a SWEENEY TODD: SCHOOL EDITION on there?
That should be interesting.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is on there, too...it looks like a lot of summerstocks filled with Hairspray, Xanadu, and RENT for the upcoming years.
This is pretty cool. I know there's a dude in my drama class who shouts every time anyone mentions suggestions for the school musical, "LEGALLY BLONDE!" He may just have his way... (I personally think I would make a SPLENDID Bruiser.)

I'm assuming the version of Dracula that will be licensed is the one that was premiered at the Kelsey Theatre in NJ two years ago.
It's interesting that they have 13 listed as two acts, since it's now only one act.

I waiting for the day when a high school version of Best Little Whorehouse is available.
Just because MTI now controls the rights doesn't mean they'll be readily available.

Oh my god... they got Xanadu...
I know of several theatres in New Jersey which will all be begging to have this show come next year. If I do this and Drosy Chaperone, my life will soon be complete...

This is exciting! I would love for my school to do one of those next year; but if I were to be honest out of all of those my musical directors will probably want to do Xanadu or Legally Blonde, since those are more 'high school appropiate' than, say, Spring Awakening. (Hairspray would be one, too, but we don't have enough black students in our school to make it work.)
