Okay Everyone in the cast is great Ariel (Desi Oakley) has the personalty and I thought that she needs to work on her vocal performance but it's growing on me the way it is now and in the video she mentions that she had vocal surgery which was successful (unlike Julie Andrews who could never sing again after hers) so I'll give that. So elated for production photos after seeing the costume sketches.

Music Theatre of Wichita has at times been a bit of a disappointment and lackluster. It will be interesting to see how they handle the swimming. I don't believe they will be flying actors and they do not have any traps on stage.

Should be interesting. Not crazy for Arie's voice.

Judging from the video they might do as the Muny did and focus less on the gimmicks of movement and more on the songs and the heart of the story. And NakedBluAngel2 I have to admit I wasn't crazy about her voice either but it's starting to grow on me and she had vocal surgery a year ago and she's still trying to getting better and stronger vocally. But it's interesting to know they also have puppets like they kinda do at Tuacahn.

Interesting that the actor playing Scuttle mentioned singing "Human Stuff." "The World Above" and "Human Stuff" were cut for the MUNY production. Hopefully they're back permanently for the licensed version.

Just got back from seeing the show. It was *phenomenal*. Ursula's costume worked wonders. At times, it actually appeared like she was walking on her tentacles rather than her feet. She could also move her tentacles up and down kind of like when you strum your fingers when you're impatient. I'm assuming they had a string attached from her finger to the end of the tentacle, possibly. Whatever it was, it was a great effect. Desi Oakley was great as Ariel. Her voice was beautiful throughout the whole show and gave a great performance.
