I’m in the minority but I loved his book for Pal Joey.

I’ll be surprised if it’s not live.

You know what, if Ross’ Dorothy had been intended to be on the spectrum her performance would make a lot more sense.

Disney Plus Frozen Pro Shot

I agree the show seems to be missing something in the last third. Elsa has her “Monster” song aka “Snow Good Deed” and then they might as well have ripped off “For Good” too but they don’t. Maybe “True Love” could have worked as a duet?

Kit Connor was the draw in Romeo and Juliet.

I'm not sure we're able to be honest with ourselves anymore if his biggest fan is saying streamers or confetti, which was also used in Sunset Blvd., is as show stopping as a chandelier.

What’s the reason for Che to strip? Is it the same as the previous staging?

Are they going to record an album and make us wait a year again for the Broadway transfer to open before they release it?

What is best cast cd from the last 5 years?
 Jun 14 2025, 01:10:43 PM

Camelot for me. The production itself and the new book wasn’t the best reviewed but the songs and orchestrations are largely untouched. Phillipa Soo, Jordan Donica and Taylor Trensch are perfectly cast.

Sunset to Be Filmed?
 Jun 6 2025, 04:20:33 PM

If this production won’t tour I would love for it to be filmed even if the title song isn’t as exciting in a filmed version. The Albert Hall performance was still pretty neat to watch on film. I just think if they were going to film it they would have done so already in London.

WSJ reviews

I liked that they reverted back to something closer to the original opening sequence of Overture, scene, song instead of cutting the Overture like the 1999 revival that is often licensed now. I thought Stemp was exemplary and Block a delight. I don’t think Dunbar was bad simply miscast. The direction was good too. I loved that with just a simple hand gesture from Block they didn’t feel the need to use the updated lyrics for “I Am Ashamed…”

The album sounds like the live recording to me but with some editing and re-recording to erase all the applause at the end of tracks.

Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit, and Nicholas Christopher in 2025 Chess Revival!

They should adjust the write up and change the word "players" to "challengers" just to hit it home for the tiktok gen that this is essentially Challengers the musical. It's the same story. Problem is they won't read it.

Have to agree with others that the keyart is giving Sunset Blvd. but with pink text instead of red. Why pink?

New version of TABOO to feature book by Jack Holden
 May 20 2025, 12:01:29 AM

I think Taboo would work extremely well as an immersive theatre experience. That’s essentially what the original production was. I’m just not convinced enough people would buy tickets to make it profitable.

The short runtime aside, what’s here is a lot of fun. I wasn’t a fan of the series, I only watched a handful of episodes, so I guess I’m one of the people they changed everything for. Seems like a fun throwback like a Kiss Me, Kate or Me and Juliet.
