MUSICAL THEATRE TRIVIA: HELP!!!

Hey guys! I need some help for the extra credit project for my Musical Theatre History class. We can use any source except the professor. I have found a lot of answers but I need help on the last ones. Let's see what you can come up with. (P.S. This is due on Friday, December 11 2015, so answers before then, please!!!) Ready, set, go!

1. What song title contains these lyrics from No No, Nanette?

"Who'd be more adorable than Flora on a date?
You know who'd be good? Little Winnie would!
Little Winnie would be good, but Betty would be great!"

2. What SHOW and SONG TITLE are these lyrics from?

"Will cure you right away."

3. What SONG TITLE in The Unsinkable Molly Brown contains the word "golden" in the lyrics?

4. What actor/actress appeared as: an emperor's second wife, a prisoner's fantasy woman, and a seamstress in a bridal shop?

5. What actor/actress appeared as: a vaudevillian songwriter, a Master of Ceremonies in Germany, and a wizard?

6. What actor/actress appeared as: a Spanish author, a controversial piano player, and a Shakespearean actor?

7. What actor/actress appeared as: a cursed prince, a French public official (2x), and a "rock star" feline?

-------AND-------

8. The following list of shows each contains a character whose first name begins with the same two letters. What are the characters' names? (i.e. MArta in Company, MAx in The Sound of Music, MAria in West Side Story, MArtha Jefferson in 1776, and MArty in Grease)

Thank you SOOO much! My grade depends on it!

Work on it yourself. But the rock feline is probably from cats. Again, do you homework yourself. I never asked anyone for help.

I appoligise for any spelling mistakes. I may be on my mobile. Clumsy fingers and small little touchscreen keys don't mixx. I try to spellcheck, but I may miss something.

#5 is Joel Grey. Not sure about the rest at the moment, but I'll see what I can find out for you.

I hope KCW isn't your professor!

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't ask anyone for help, but the rules were we could use any source except him and people in the music program at our school. You can have these answers, too.

#6

MUSICAL THEATRE TRIVIA: HELP!!!

6- Brian Stokes Mitchell

7- Terrence Mann

You need to post the list for 8!

Why are you being such a b*tch? The OP's professor said they could use ANY source and so they are asking here. What's wrong with that? Creative, to me.

Greased Lighting, the purpose of the project is that the Original Poster would explore theater history and learn things for himself.  We could all certainly give him the answers, just as his theater teacher could spout them off in class, but then  the Original Poster would have not explored the the history of our art form for himself and gleaned these answers plus a plethora of other knowledge for himself.

As always, it is the journey, not the destination.  The answers are all trite, it is the discovery that enriches.

Ahhh thank you! The list for 8 is:

Barnum, West Side Story, Peter Pan, Sweeney Todd, and The Music Man. Anyone know what characters from each show start with the first two letters in their first names?

Also, I forgot to mention: in the lists of roles for each actor/actress, I need to know which shows correspond with those characters. Thanks!

MUSICAL THEATRE TRIVIA: HELP!!!

Surely you can.figure out those since you've been given the answers.

To the people bitching...it's freaking TRIVIA (which comes from the word TRIVIAL).  He wouldn't actually learn anything from finding the info.

I did end up figuring them out. Thanks!! :) And thanks for the support. I've spent about 8 weeks on 7 pages of this kind of stuff. You're right; it is trivia.

Who were the 5 characters?? I've gone through and I still can't figure it out (although I've only been using the wikipedia pages for the list of characters). I've found several where the first two letters are in all but one musical.

I mean I only figured out what shows those actors were in from numbers 6, 7, and 8. I have found all but one match "Jo" unless there is someone with those first two letters in The Music Man.

I found 4 "To" names as well (except for Peter Pan). It sounded like you had found all the answers lol

One of the Lost Boys in Peter Pan is named Tootles (for the missing Peter Pan TO). I assume that character name appears in at least one of the stage versions of Peter Pan?  Good luck!

MUSICAL THEATRE TRIVIA: HELP!!!

I should have thought to use ibdb but didn't last night...WinstonSalem appears to be correct, there is a Tootles in the 1954 production of Peter Pan with Mary Martin. The other 4: Tony from WSS, Tommy Djilas from Music Man, Tobias from Sweeney Todd and Tom Thumb from Barnum.

Ya, I did end up figuring that out. And all the rest! Thanks for all the help, guys! That completes my packet. :) Good work, team.

Actually Tony is wrong, because his real name is Anton. (sorry, had to add that)

#22

MUSICAL THEATRE TRIVIA: HELP!!!

TO - in Peter Pan and all of those shows.

#23

MUSICAL THEATRE TRIVIA: HELP!!!

Chita Rivera:  Fastrada PIPPIN, Aurora/Spider Woman KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN, Anita WEST SIDE STORY

Terrence Mann  Javert LES MISERABLES and Citizen Chauvelin in THE SCARLETT PIMPERNEL and you could even argue x3 with Charlemagne PIPPIN (if you consider Charlemagne loosely to be a French public official.... a stretch), Beast in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (although and this is a huge stretch you could also argue x2 with King Arthur ("prince" and "cursed" being used very loosely) in CAMELOT), and Rum Tum Tugger in CATS

Brian Stokes Mitchell, Miguel Cervantes MAN OF LA MANCHA, Colehouse Walker, RAGTIME, Fred Grahame KISS ME, KATE
