These are some of the reasons I continue to fall in love with theatre and musicals. Here are a couple of moments I think are MAGIC!
1. "Confrontation" scene with Robert C playing Jekyll & Hyde 2. "In his eyes" scene with linda and Christanne? Noll from J&H 3. The barricade coming together in Les Miz and i agree with One day more as stated earlier. 4. Circle of Life from The Lion King! 5. The Color Purple Reprise with whole cast at edge of stage singing. 6. "I'll Follow You reprise" with Tom Collins clutching the coat that Angel bought him and the rest of the cast in the Seasons of Love line up.. yet Angel's spot is empty. 7. "defying gravity" from WICKED. 8. "Science Fiction Double Feature" duet with Daphne and Joan Jett. 9. The Mansion and staircase coming foward in Sunset Blvd. 10. In 42nd Street, when entire huge cast is tapping at same time, coming up and over and down the staircase. 11. The whole opening Museum sequence in AIDA. 12. In Bat Boy, in "Children Children" the whole scene spoofing the opening of the Lion King. 13. In Taboo, the last scene as everyone on stage singing to audience. 14. and when the curtain came down at Grey gardens..as IMHO..that show was a bore.......

"The "overture" of Hairspray, as the lights go down and you hear the chorus of "I Can Hear The Bells". Always gives me goosebumps."
Odd, I don't remember any "overture" in Hairspray....

I'm not really a fan of Les Mis, but I definitely agree that "One Day More" is a magical moment. It's one of the only songs from Les Mis that I listen to regularly, and it's incredibly powerful.
"Waiting for the Girls Upstairs" has always given me chills, even on the cast recordings.
Anything in Gypsy Especially the Overture and from "Rose's Turn" until the very end.
I cried when the lights went down for The History Boys to begin.
but anyone who knows me here would know that I'd been obsessing over it for months and that a Texan boy could actually get to NY to see his favorite play is tear-inducing in itself
"Picture "The View," with the wisecracking, sympathetic sweethearts of that ABC television show replaced by a panel of embittered, suffering or enraged Arab women" -the Times review of Black Eyed
The flying portion of Defying Gravity always moves me - especially the "It's me" moment
I also loved the beginning of DRS when everyone was dancing and Lawrence comes out. I thought when Velma rises from the floor in "All That Jazz" was cool as well.
Agree about the final moment of Sweeney. Love that!
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
During "One Day More" in LES MISERABLES when all the voices come together to sing "tomorrow we'll discover what our God in Heaven has in store." It gives me the chills every time I hear it.
I also agree with the final moment in SWEENEY when the door slams.
Drowsy - End of "Bride's Lament", it's just so perfect! Guys and Dolls (London) - "Sit down, you're rocking the boat" POTO - The title song Wicked - Beginning of NGD when Elphie rises through trap door Les Miz - End of "One Day More"
Also, the title song from Oklahoma! When I did the show, the audience went nuts, and it was so perfect.
