Maid of the Mist from Full Monty

I have a recording of Emily Skinner singing it.
Not sure that her character sang it though.
Now I am curious as well....

I believe that Pam sang Maid of the Mist. Alot of her lines in the show are lines in the song. I think it was sung when Pam goes to the jail to get her and Jerry's son. It is in the second act.

It was definitely Pam's song. Estelle had a song as well. I forget the name of it... it had something to do with buffalos. LOL!

Vicki (Emily's role) already has her big number, "Life With Harold".

Let's face it, the girls were supporting players in that show. Each of them were lucky to have one song. Two solos would be wishful thinking!

I never understood why Pam's role was cut down so much. Aside from the fact she's a completely dull and utterly boring character, she has more significance to the plot than someone like... Vicki, who is basically there for laughs and nothing more than Harold's sidekick.

I agree with cur10call here, The only time Pam really shows Jerry any "Love" is when she mentions the "Maid of the Mist" the second time in the jail and she kisses him on the cheek before she exits as I recall. That HAD to be where they cut the song. I also agree with MackieManiac, there were too many ballads in the second act and one would have had to be cut. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!
Now that I think of it, I really don't care for the song "It's a woman's World" but it is however an upbeat tune in the first act so - I suppose it stuck. I wish they gave Molly MacGregor a song - Maybe just bitching at Malcolm ar something, But I get weepy when he sings "You walk with Me" everytime I see the show! (And a good laugh when the guys go through the moves at the funeral, LOL!)
