Posted: 7/11/05 at 7:30pmWell.. Ill cover you is NOT a Tenor/bass duet. its more about Tenor/Baritone Collins sings too high to be a Bass, so maybe he is a baritone. but I KNOw he is not a bass.

"Schadenfreude is a girl-guy duet (Gary is written to be played by a woman, and this should be respected) "
Why?
If the performance is a concert it doesn't have ANY significance whether it is performed by 2 men or man and a woman. There's nothing in the lyrics that requires the other performer to be a woman. Just because in the actual show AVE Q the other one is a woman doesn't mean it can't be performed in a concert or cabaret by 2 men - or 2 women for that matter! Did Barbra respect the fact that "Being Alive" or "Something's Coming" were written for a man? "Memory" was written for a woman, but Michael Crawford recorded it anyway. "Love Changes Everything" was written for a man but Laurie Beechman, Sarah Brightman and Marti Webb recorded it anyway... "Defying Gravity" was written for a woman but has already been performed by a man in a concert... Need I go on?

Male-male duet, you say?
How about either "You're the Top" or "Blow, Gabriel, Blow" from Cole Porter's Anything Goes?
"But if, baby, I'm the bottom,
You're the top!"
Sorry, I just couldn't resist.
