It's a great, fun musical, and very deserving of it's box office success world wide. If you're an Abba fan, it's easy to like, if not, it's an introduction to some of the best pop tunes of all time.
Judging by your comments, I'm sure you will get your money's worth, and smile a lot, and a lifetime of memories!

I didn't like how they had a little "concert" at the end of three songs. I thought that was pretty worthless and could have done with out it.

Posted: 7/30/04 at 12:32pmI went to Mamma Mia in 2001 and didn't know what to expect. Well, I absolutely loved it and in a couple weeks, I'll be seeing it for the 11th time (it's the only show I've seen over and over). Like others have said, it's not a deep show, but it's a ton of fun. I didn't even like Abba before the show. You walk out singing the songs. I can't personally comment on the NY cast (I saw it when Louise Pitre was in it), but it truly is a great fun show.

Posted: 7/30/04 at 4:58pmI just saw the show again after not seeing it since last Sept, and this new cast is great. Dee Hoty's voice is much different that Pitre's, but I thought her acting choices were much better. And Tanya & Rosie were great. The new Tanya was up against my goddess Karen Mason, and the equally amazing Jeanine Morrick, and she had me like putty in her hands for all her lines. The show itself is great, and the concert is such a treat. I think that alot of the people in my generation don't apprieciate because they don't appriciate ABBA. My parents loved it, so I grew up with songs like Super Trooper, and seeing it onstage brings back so many memories. With many of the other shows on BWay you hear a song, and instantly think of the show it's sung in. But Mamma Mia! has the trick of making you think of memories from 20 years ago. Go, and dance and jive, and have the time of your life.
