You know, what's done is done. Teal will be our Elphaba for the next few months. I wish her nothing but the best. She has a beautiful voice - and her acting has come a long way since LA. I won't lie, she is also the most beautiful Elfie I have ever seen. (It is not right that someone should look so good that green.) She is no dummy and will have, hopefully, taken everything into consideration when contemplating her contract. Selfishly, I am so happy to again be able to experience her Elphaba. And Adam, did you see her in SF? I doubt it. There is nothing sleep-inducing about her performance.

Ok, Teal! Good luck to you!

I am not quite sure if your post was sincere, or if your post was meant to insinuate that I am Teal. If the latter, you could not be more wrong. I'm over 50 and look ghastly when green. I readily admit to being a fan, however! Peace
I'm sorry...how do you know this? Let me guess...your not obliged to say?

Good point. So, Adam, how do you know this? Where did you dig around?
Fanofgreen...I was talking to you. You are stating that Teal IS the new Elphaba...how do you know this?

I've actually dug around a bit, and apparently it is Ms. Wicks, much to my disappointment.

My name is neither "adam" nor "greer."

Of course I'm not going to tell you that. I can tell you it's from within the company, though, and is ironclad. Just remember that I was the one who told you all the next Elphaba was Mandy Gonzalez, when everyone here was convinced it was Jennifer Nettles.
There's also going to be a new Fiyero in January...first a temporary fill-in for three weeks, who's understudied the role in various productions. Then, the permanent Fiyero will take over, who is not in a Wicked company right now, but has been in the show before.

If this is the case, is the show going to announce it at the last possible minute? I feel like they usually announce cast changes a month to three weeks before hand. Are they waiting until after the holidays?
Maybe Kyle Dean Massy will finally be Fiyero permanently after taking a few weeks off of n2n.
um please? he is a fantastic fiyero!
I am dying to see Kyle Dean's Fiyero. I hope it's him.

It is. It's Kyle Dean and then Kyle McDaniel (I think that's his name?). It could be the other way around. I just know it's those two. I'm certain.
Ah...so that rumor about the San Francisco Fiyero is half-true.
I saw Kyle McDaniel in SF. His act one was bland, but his act two was excellent. Hopefully he can make his first act as good as his second act.

Beginning performances on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, Teal Wicks will assume the role of Elphaba in the Broadway company of WICKED...Additionally, Next to Normal's Kyle Dean Massey will return to the Broadway company of WICKED in the role of Fiyero on Tuesday, January 25.

I've heard Katie won't be there too much longer. I've heard rumors that she's leaving in March, but as of now they are just rumors.

So since this was mentioned up thread, is Andy Karl out for the next three weeks? And then just coming back to do one final show on the 23rd?
Bizarre.
Kyle McDaniel is playing Fyiero now, I believe.
"In regard to new Glindas, I seriously doubt Lindsay will ever see a promotion. If an understudy gets promoted it is normally rather fast and seeing as she has been with the production since early 2007 and hasn't been picked for any of the openings over the years, I doubt she will ever play the role full-time."
Annaleigh Ashford and Alli Mauzey
Left as an understudy, did a different show, came back as the principle Glinda.
In my opinion, that stage has been stripped of so much laughter (and power-house vocals) since Mauzey left the production.
WIth that said, I've been dying to see Northen for three years and have only heard rave reviews on her.
considering that Teal starts on Feb 1st, is it safe to say that Mandy's last performance will be January 30th? or is she leaving this week as posted in the first page of this thread?
Yes, Mandy's final performance is January 30.
Next time I go see Wicked I would really love to catch Mandy at the stage door to thank her for her great performance. Does she usually come out? How long does it take?
Thanks!!
