Just got out of Mandy Gonzalez's last In the Heights performance and at the curtain call Lin Manuel Miranda brought her flowers and they played Wicked's overture.
Show was great and Corbin Bleusnavi was actually really enjoyable. Hadn't seen the show since the first month of performances.
But the Dad was creepy, Janet Dacal is greatly missed and Marcy was ugh

Yay! I'm happy that she is going to play Elphaba.
What and huh? Was it ever officially announced that she was playing Elphaba? She obviously is but... Congrats and good luck.

I think a Wicked exiting music curtain call, a witch hat, and a Lin-Manuel Miranda announcement is all the official we need.
Just got back-- the curtain call was hilarious !!!
Lin with the Elphaba hat was great !!!
I was really not sure what to expect from Corbin, but he is very, very, good !!!
I really thought that Olga Merediz was gonna lose it right before "Breathe"--- same for Chris Jackson during "When the Sun Goes Down"-
Really nice night !
I caught the matinee of In The Heights yesterday, and she searched for a bright green sharpie at the stage door to sign with. Just sayin'
Also, the show was in incredible shape! The biggest problem with Marcy's Vanessa is she lacks charm, especially the kind of charm Corbin Bleu brings to the role of Usnavi (who is fantastic!). I've seen the show with the original cast, and Karen Olivo played Vanessa with a kind of charm that makes Usnavi like her. Marcy's Vanessa is too turned off by Washington Heights, and the audience can't see why Usnavi likes her so much.
And Andrea Burns is still fantastic.
Ok kids, please tell me that I'm not the only one who noticed green where there's not usually green tonight? Sonny's slushie before 96,000 = green (it's usually orange), the piragua during Piragua = green, etc... Or maybe I was just seeing something that wasn't intentionally there.
I was really not sure what to expect from Corbin, but he is very, very, good !!!
This. Tonight was my first time seeing Bleusnavi, and I loved him. I might have to watch those HSM movies now.
you know, I totally thought the slushie being green was different, but I hadn't seen the show for years so I just dismissed it.
<< the piragua during Piragua = green, etc... >>
I noticed that ! Thought I was going nuts !!!
Btw... really missed Seth !!
Did anyone else notice that Usnavi's shirt in Act 2 was a light shade of Green??? It was not the normal blue that the other Usnavi's wears. At first I just thought it was a costume change for Corbin so he could be different from Javier and Lin. But later on I saw pictures from his opening night curtain call and he was wearing the Blue shirt that the previous Usnavi's wore.
I noticed the piragua and the slushie (but for some reason it didn't dawn on me). Didn't notice the shirt. Hilarious.
EDIT: Come to think of it, I did notice something looked different, but couldn't really figure out what.
I was the complete opposite...I didn't notice anything else except the shirt! LOL
!!! Mandy is going to be Elphaba? Awesome!

I am eternally grateful I got to see her last show.
It was breath-taking <333
I had never seen ITH before and am seeing it in Feb but then I found out she was leaving so I revolved my life around figuring out how to get to NYC for her last show - and I made it!
She was soooo amazing <333 Of course Chris, Andrea, and Robin were amazing too! And Corbin was good as well.
I also got Lin's autograph but he was like very secretive and always hiding 'cept when he came on stage for Mandy.
Eliseo Román was in the right orchestra section - not hiding, and @intermission I got his autograph and he talked to me for a few minutes - he was super nice!
I always heard about people who for example saw Kristin Chenoweth's last Wicked, and I wished I'd be lucky to see a last - then I got to!!! And for one of my favourite actresses!!!
Got her autograph&a picture - she was sooo nice! Can't wait to see her in Wicked!
I love how for her entrance half of the audience cheered and clapped - then the other half of the audience was like "what? who's she? why are people clapping ten minutes into the show?"
