Too soon to cast a star in Wicked. They do not need it.
Anth,
Again, how do you know if the notes are "interpolated"? Do you have the score of "Wicked" readily available for you to make that judgement? I am pretty damn sure if Schwartz didn't want here to sing those notes, she would have stopped a long time ago.
Voiceanth,
Why must you use virtually every Wicked-related thread to make a dig at Kristin? We get that you don't like her. We also get that you like Jessica Simpson and other similar clones and think that would be the greatest *insert leading female role on the stage*.
With regard to Kristin's supposed interpolation: Are you in the pit in Wicked each night, or a close confidant of Schwartz? Just asking...

I have had the misfortune of sitting through Kristen on numerous occcasions...
To say that she does not "trust her material" is an understatement...(I have no idea about Wicked, I am refering to everything I have seen her in starting with "On a Clear day" at Encores 5 years ago)
At each performance, she mugged like Martha Raye on crack and added high notes to songs that never had any need for operatic soprano high notes before..
I will be at the "Candide" as I was given tickets ...It's Leonard BERNSTEIN, for Gods Sake!
Maybe she will "trust" him??

I believe this thread deals with Mandy Moore as Glinda and not the "mistrustings" of Kristin Chenoweth. Or can I not read?
Whoa! Chenofano i totally agree
I think Many Moore could actually play Glinda. She looks the part to!
Wicked also has two scores comming out here is a description of one.
This is a standard piano/vocal/guitar songbook. It is an easier version and includes the melody interpolated into the right hand. The publisher generates this version based on material submitted for the Vocal Selections book (below). A songlist follows.
Interpolated seems to mean written into.
The other score comming out is closer to the real acompniment. It's like an easy version and a hard version.
Hold up everyone, Mandy Moore has said in interviews that she really want to be in a Broadway show, it one of her life long dreams. I'd say at least let her do a show but I doubt that it would be Wicked (as her Broadway Debut. I would like if she did a movie musical first and then if she's any good in musicals then she can come to Broadway. Lets give her a chance, being on Broadway happens to be a dream of many people not only in Hollywood but across the USA. Deborah Gibson was also a "Pop Princess" back in the 1980's and she has been on Broadway several times, and there hasnt been doubt about her talent.

Thank god know one ever thought to make easy and hard versions of Operas!
Who cares? It's for the consumer. It's a really good idea, its for both experianced and inexperianced singers.

From musicalschwartz.com about the second songbook: The piano part will be more difficult to play but represents the real accompaniment the way Stephen Schwartz plays them. This is the one Mr. Schwartz and his team have been carefully developing. Vocal line is separate.
Obiviously they have these two songs books also for beginning piano players who whould love to play the music for Wicked and the other one for more professional players and singers. It's actually a great thing to do.
I wouldn't mind Mandy Moore on Broadway, I just don't think she should start with Glinda. If she could work her way up, then I might be more accepting.
She's one of the few female pop singers I can stand. She's definitely not a Britney or a Christina.
not yet, at least.
I didn't say this was true. I was ASKING if it was true. My sister read it on a message board just like this one. I thought you guys would know if it was true or not. I'm not trying to spread rumors.
