Mandy Patinkin slated to run for a month or so in one of the theaters at the new Dodger Stages complex on 49th St. and 8th Avenue.

The most recent affliction I heard about was that he had been battling prostate cancer, but according to his interview on playbill.com a few weeks ago, he has completely recovered from that. So all should be well with Mandy

He's in the show Dead Like Me now!!

It's Patinkin's second season on the SHO series, Dead Like Me, but filming is only from Feb thru July, so he can do something in the city now. He typically tours in the fall into winter period but has said that he is picking and trying new material before he records his next CD.

As for his 'illness' he has successful surgery for prostate cancer and is doing well but of course no one really knows whether they are cured until some time passes. He has given interviews about this and has a very positive attitude and prostate cancer has a very high cure rate so there is every reason to believe he'll be OK, but only time will tell. Surgery was in May and he was filming DLM after that, so yes he's in good enough shape to be working.
