It was "different"
Saw it, actually enjoyed parts of it, but certainly wouldn't actually recommend it. Liked it a LOT better than "The Overwhelming", though (I didn't feel I was going to fall asleep).

I used to think that Margaret Cho was absolutely hilarious when she first started making it big, when she would do primarily Asian jokes. Since she became a femi-nazi, she just isn't appealing to me anymore.
Same thing with Janeane Garofalo. Now even Wanda Sykes is doing the whole feminist thing. It just isn't funny IMHO.

When she does stand-up in the show (mostly at the begining) she's never been better.
But the acts that follow... well, this is "The Gong Show". Wish I had one.
From the midget stripper to the fat stripper to the drag queen... the show woulda been over real quick. Plus I really don't wanna see people pulling money out of their a--!!!
Gong, gong, gong!

re: Margaret Cho's Sensuous Woman#9
Posted: 11/7/07 at 7:15amI'm totally serious. I just don't find this feminist humor funny at all and it seems that more and more female comedians are going this route after they become successful and totally forget the humor that got them to where they are. I could care less if she's a lesbian. I'm just saying her jokes aren't funny anymore.

unfunny is unfunny,
but why do you have to use sexist hate-speach?
re: Margaret Cho's Sensuous Woman#11
Posted: 11/7/07 at 7:45amDidn't realize it was "hate-speech". I apologize if that's how it was taken. That term in my eyes is just another way of saying a feminist extremist.

I'm a big Margaret fan, but have to agree that she has lost me with her more angry commentary. I am all for it at a rally, not so much at a comedy event. I was very disappointed by the Revolution tour which felt like a rally, as opposed to stand-up. It was very different from her roots. Plus, it is like preaching to the converted based on her audiences-it doesn't make much sense.
Then during the True Colors Tour she managed to denigrate other religions and beliefs in a tour promoting tolerance for diversity. I just didnt get it-it felt mean, and again preaching to the converted. Doing Bush jokes to a crowd of gay people feels like cheap laughs and applause. Highly unsophisticated.
I am glad Margaret is dabbling in other creative ventures though and I loved her film Bam Bam and Celeste. I just hope with a new regime in the White House soon, she can go back to being funny and let go of some of her anger.
