I bet you Jessica Simpson fans will get lucky... I bet she'll be next!
Mariah? In a play? I have one word for you: "Glitter."
The day that happens is the day I lose all faith in Broadway.

Don't laugh, but Mariah Carey is seriously being considered to replace Ashley Judd if the current revival of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF extends its run.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Sorry, just lmao picturing her trying to do a Southern accent.
Picture her trying to act period.
wait, ahvent you heard, mariah and jessica will replace kristin and idina when they leave wicked, frankly, i think theyd be better than the originals< dripping with saracsm
LOL Well that would be one way to close a show fast.
From what I've heard, she could give Ashley Judd a run for her money. That's not meant as a complement to Mariah Carey...

Carey considering Rattigan's THE SLEEPING PRINCE in London?
I suppose the logic is that since the character is a Edwardian ear showgirl, and played by the great Monroe on film, then Mariah can surely do it.
Logic? Ah, the madness!!
Bulldog.
Lets not go putting Maraih and Marilyn in the same universe.
You know what, I don't think Mariah is a TERRIBLE actress!! I sat through Glitter, and even though it wasnt FANTASTIC, I didn't think it was totally unwatchable!! The plot was thin, yeah, but still, I also sat through Crossroadss and that movie was much worse!!
But then again, what do I know ,I thought Beautiful Girl was adorable!! =P
yes must agree with all the Glitter comments, if thats how that was, then the stage better get a hold of itself!
I didn't hate Glitter. In fact, I liked it. YES! I'll admit it damn it! I actually watch it on purpose when I catch it on HBO. Glitter kind of reminds me of an 80's style "A Star is Born."
Can you picture Mariah green?
And what are you TALKING about you were able to watch, Princess??? I couldn't watch that movie without a paperbag!
how about Mariah as Mimi in RENT or Aida?

Wow, this is an old thread.
I can only assume that Mariah Carey's London acting plans fell through. In my own words - "a proposed West End debut", "The Sleeping Prince is hoped to open in March." PROPOSED! HOPED!

To quote Christmas Eve, "Ewww!"
Stephen Schwartz would have to have all his rights to Wicked stolen before Mariah plays so much as a munchkin in his show. Apparently they did not have the greatest collaboration during The Prince of Egypt.
I have much confidence in Mariah's singing let alone her acting. She needs to go back and work on her 1st craft before she ventures out and tries something new like acting.
That's as bad as a Spice girl in 'Rent', Or an N 'sync member in 'Rent'. Make it stop! *sigh*
Best,
Anna
She does have a good range, she just can't sing...at all...or act, for that matter. She likes to whisper, though, in extremely high octaves.
She'd have a nervous breakdown trying to do eight shows a week!
