Marissa Jaret Winokur snubbed on Rodeo Drive

I wanted to pass along some upsetting news that I saw on Entertainment Tonight this evening. ET reported a real life story seemingly lifted from the Julia Roberts movie "Pretty Woman". It seems that Marissa Jaret Winokur was shopping on Rodeo Drive for a gown to wear to the upcoming Tony Awards and found that the stores there were not interested in her patronage. ET mentioned that the salesperson at Gucci was particularly rude and told her that her "breasts would never fit in the dress that she was looking at". ET reported that a salesperson at Neiman Marcus told Marissa not to handle a specific dress as she would "soil it". Marissa ended up giving up and called on her friend and editor of Vogue, Anna Wintour for help. The word went out to designers and ET reported that Marissa is having a custom gown designed. This will be a happy ending to a sad story. I think some of the snotty salespeople that wouldn't help Marissa need to go see Hairspray and pay close attention to the message.

That sadly does not surprise me. That must be why I saw Marissa in Times Square today. Marissa needs to come back to Broadway where she belongs.

I hope Marissa looks like a knockout at the Tony Awards.
As someone who is always fighting to lose weight I can relate.
Glad she got the help she needed.
It is not easy not being a toothpick.
Marissa you show the world you are a star no matter what size you are.

some sort of hidden camera thing should be done to really expose things like this, im sure it has happened to people other than simply marrissa jaret winokur.

Kids, kiddies, kiddos, you can't EXPOSE something that everybody knows is standard operating procedure. Now how about we work on affecting change in Washington this year, rather than making Rodeo Drive safe for all actresses?

That's a great idea! I bet Marissa's buddy Harvey would love to shop Rodeo Drive for a nice cocktail dress or ballgown. A nice Jewish boy in drag - the shopgirls would plotz.
